Tropical Express is a great spot for a casual meal! The food is always fresh and flavorful, with generous portions at a very reasonable price. I especially enjoyed the friendly service — the staff makes you feel welcome right away. The place is simple but clean, and everything came out quickly. Definitely a nice local restaurant to stop by when you’re in the area.

This is probably the 2nd place I found in houston that has snowballs that remind me of being back home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The flavor was so sweet and yummy. It was soaked in juice. The ice was so soft! Prices are great. Service is solid. We pulled up right before close (I hate doing that) and they still served us. It's ducked off in a neighborhood. We didn't have issues parking in the street. There is enough seating at well. It's outside and in a neighborhood so I don't have much to say about the ambiance, but i definitely want to go back to the try the food!

We came here to eat at 4:30 pm when we arrived a older gentleman said they were closed. When you google the hours of operation it reads 5:00 pm. So apparently we will take out business somewhere else. This is deceptive to the public.

Great spot for comfort food. Portions were big and the shaved ice was great with lots of syrup. I would suggest to rewrite the prices since it was hard to read.

I found this place on tiktok and it was 2 minutes from my house and it is a hidden gem a million percent...I've been multiple times since the first time and have not been disappointed...I even asked them to make something that wasn't on the menu and it turned out great (ask for an Arnold Palmer with straberry)...very welcoming family owned business and the food is addictive...you have to wait until after 2pm for the rib sandwich which is smoked on site and pulled off the grill when it's ordered...try anything on the menu and you'll be hooked too...
