Five stars all the way. The line alone tells you the barbecue is worth it, but what truly sets Truth apart is the hospitality. Every single team member was smiling and attentive. The moment we even glanced up, someone was there making sure we were good. Every protein was perfectly cooked, the sides are one of a kind, and the desserts are absolutely incredible. Worth the wait, worth the hype, and we’ll definitely be back.

We flew into Austin purposely to visit Franklin’s BBQ. What a disappointment after waiting 4 hours in line.
So we then tried Truth BBQ !
Yes! These guys rock! And after only a 30 minute wait, maybe not as tender as Franklin’s, was slightly over cooked, but definitely tastes much better over all in smokiness, rub, and color! Will from now on be our place to go.
Highly recommended for sure!

We went for dinner to celebrate my husband’s birthday. He absolutely loves BBQ, and after looking at the options, I decided to give this place a try. I didn’t realize it gets that busy, so I definitely recommend arriving about 15 minutes before they open if you want to be among the first to order. It’s first come, first served, and we arrived right around opening time — it was a quick rush!
I can honestly say the ribs, brisket, and pork ribs were delicious. We also tried several sides: the tater tot casserole, coleslaw, and potato salad. Everything tasted fresh, well seasoned, and very flavorful. We ordered the pint size portions, and it was more than enough for us.
It was totally worth it. I grabbed a beer while waiting in line because I thought they didn’t have a bar, but later I noticed they actually do. If you’re planning to have a stronger drink, you can order it after you place your food order — same with dessert.
There are BBQ sauces available at the table, and they were really good. Overall, everything was great — you just need a little patience at the beginning to order and know what you want. They have high chairs for kids, and my daughter was able to eat comfortably.
The bathrooms were clean and pleasant.
We would definitely come back!

The “Truth” is their BBQ is the best the four of us have eaten. We were also BLESSED to have Freddy go above and beyond to ensure we had a great time while there. He even invited us to participate in a behind-the-scenes tour for free. However, the best part about Freddy is his infectious happy attitude towards everyone and everything.

I usually stick with what I know when it comes to BBQ, but I hadn’t tried Truth yet and thought it was a must after so many spoke so highly of it, and it did not disappoint!! I went at noon on a Sunday which was not a walk in the park for wait time, but it was so worth it! The vibe and energy of the team and restaurant is so pleasant and welcoming! Someone let us sample food without us asking, and when we dined in, multiple people checked on us without table-side service!!!!! As someone from the restaurant industry, I was so impressed and have no complaints. See you soon, Truth!

The food here was FIREEEEE. I'm not a BBQ person, but this was so worth waiting in line for 45-ish minutes in the torrential downpour (this was Valentine's Day). For our party of 4, we ordered 2 3-meat combos. All the sides were amazing, and we loved the pulled pork, brisket, and turkey. The sausage was good, but honestly I could have skipped that.

The Truth is all smoke and No Q.
Brisket dry even off of the fat end. Over cooked notice how tight it is. If you dont understand that statement, then you want ever understand. Brisket is not slice properly when cut sliced from the big end.
Regular sausage, dry as also, casing very tough.
Turkey NO flavor
Ribs better than most, 3 out of 5
Sides best thing they have.
Serving line staff is like watching a bad sit com. The line is fabricated, if the serving line was efficient their would be no line. Slicing a few ribs and a lb of brisket was challenging.
You seem very sensitive, we tipped your cashier 10 bucks...she was the first that was polite. As was rhe 30ish dark haired you man in the dining room area
I noticed you didnt address the concerns about the food?
Not sure why you would desire to push this further. You appear to be doing very well. You will be jist fine with out us.

My Pork ribs were too soft but a flavorful Texas rib, either over wrapped or too long in the warmer. Philly brisket was very good followed by some good Mac & cheese.

Truth BBQ is the best spot in Houston. I’ve been here twice and it never disappoints. I came once during the week and once on Saturday morning. Both times I arrived at around 10:40am, and the line was about half way through the stalls outside. The line quickly doubled between 10:40 and 11am! I reccomend getting there as early as you can. Even getting there at 10:40 I had to wait about 40 minutes to sit down with our food. During the first visit I noticed the Chief Sheriff of the Houston Homicide Department standing in line a ways in front of me. I instantly knew this was the place. Watching the chefs prepare the brisket for the next day as you meander around the line patiently. The way the chefs prepare the trays with the 18 hour brisket and special ribs made you feel like you were watching an award winning performance. Simplicity wins and everything at Truth BBQ is exceptional. I had the honor of trying the smoked brisket (juicy, fatty), jalapeño cheddar link, baked beans, Mac and cheese and of course the Saturday exclusive: BBQ Beef Ribs!!! The beef ribs are only available on Saturday and completely blew me away. I have been wanting to try bbq beef rib for a solid 10 years and it did not disappoint. The pickles were outstanding, and the beans and Mac and cheese are simply unforgettable. I also tried a local beer called Bombshell Blonde and that one is very good too. This underdog of a place has earned my respect and I will pay my dues every time I come to Houston. Thank you Truth BBQ for an undeniable authentic Texas BBQ experience.

I had high expectations for this place. I came with three friends and we ordered about $200 worth of BBQ.
Starting with the brisket: we ordered the fatty brisket, but it was dry. It also was not sliced correctly as they did not separate the point from the flat, which caused 1/2 of the slice to be cut with the grain and ended up tough. We also tried the plain sausage, which was dry. The ribs had good flavor, but were a bit dry as well. The turkey wasn’t dry, but it lacked flavor.
Honestly, my favorite part of the meal was the sides. The mac and cheese was solid, and the tater tot casserole was really good. Overall, it was disappointing.
