Service was enthusiastic, but not polished. Restaurant was 80% full on a Friday night and still felt like multiple balls were being dropped from start to finish. Overall we enjoyed our time at dinner with friends and family, but we all had some issues that compounded to a meh experience.

This restaurant is likely tied for most expensive steakhouse in Houston. Perhaps turners cut can learn something from other restaurants in Berg Hospitality group. Too many mistakes in service and food for the price point to gain consistent repeat business.

Issues at my table: 2 “menu special” cocktails were just bad and missed the mark (we didn’t send them back expecting great service and not wanting to be a nuisance), afterwords, the ‘regular’ cocktails were good. Potato based fried appetizer tasted like ‘oil’, separately, the potato entree shareable side had the same ‘oil’ predominant flavor. All members agreed both potato’s were effectively the same and neither were great. Waiter recommended both potato’s for our table. Venison ordered medium rare that came out well done and black burnt flavor on all sides (sauces were great and saved the venison), lighter white fish smothered in so many capers, yet still bland (2 people got it and didn’t finish their meal)… someone commented the butter was ‘pretty’ formed into the Michelin star shape, but then right after commented it had no flavor.

Overall at this price point there was nothing to be wowed about except the table side Caesar salad was 10/10.

Band had microphone issues entire evening from the moment we walked into the hostess all throughout dinner. They never resolved the microphone issue. The staff was not quick to change music to something ambient to fill the air - sat for 15+ minutes with no sound over the air. Minor issue, but dull and quiet compared to the vibrant expectation of a live band.

No “affordable” steak options. No petit filet, no “standard” filet steak. Take notes from the finest steakhouses in the city, not everyone wants $95 wagyu filet imported from Australia. It’s perfectly fine to have non imported filet in the $60-80 range like every other fine dining steakhouse in Houston. Wagyu is delish, but it has a richer flavor. Many people prefer a non wagyu/blended Wagyu wet/dry aged beef.

The location and look of this restaurant was top notch, however the food and indoor atmosphere isn't desirable. A lot of the food came with a strong smell of propane for some reason, the expensive items felt very underwhelming. The best item at this restaurant was definitely the table side ceaser salad, however portion is by person and not for the table i.e they charge you base on the person at a flat rate meaning, if you buy a table side salad you are buying only the portion size for YOURSELF. The staff where incredible but the restaurant is usually empty.

The best thing about Turners Cut is the service. The food is a amazing but the service is memorable. From the time we walked in and waited at the bar for our table and all the way through our dinner service we were treated exceptionally. Thank you Turners Cut for a wonderful experience. Well be back.

We went to Turner's Cut for an early Valentine's Day dinner. It was a fantastic experience and meal. We were greeted by the hostess as soon as we walked through the door and once we gave them our name, they immediately noted that the special comment (quieter table request) I had made on the Open Table reservation. We asked to be seated at the bar first so my wife could have a cocktail. She had the buttery martini. She commented on how smooth and delicious it was. A band and singer were on a balcony in the main part of the dining room providing beautiful music. While at the bar, the manager, Richard Howell, came by and introduced himself, checked on us and offered any assistance we might need. When we were ready, we moved to our table on an enclosed outside patio, where we met our waiter Esvin and his assistant Jose. The menu for the night was pre-fixe for Valentine's Day. We leisurely made our choices with Esvin's assistance, and the meal was served in a timely manner with style and elegance. The wagyu steak melted in our mouths and the Chocolate souffle tart was wonderful. Richard checked by with us again while we were at our table to make sure everything was still good. This was a wonderful Valentine's Day dinner and well worth the expense for a romantic evening out with the wife.

Worst steak I've EVER had. Not worth the price AT ALL. Should have just gone to Saltgrass.

Fabulous way to celebrate a milestone Birthday. The staff, food, and atmosphere was fantastic. Richard the manager made us feel welcomed and informed us of all the great things they have coming up. If your were thinking about going sometime, just do it. We loved our experience and will be back.

Throughout my extensive travels, I have had the privilege of dining at numerous exquisite fine dining establishments worldwide. The culinary experience and exceptional service provided here were truly exceptional. While my husband is not typically inclined to frequent fine dining restaurants, he expressed a strong desire to return to this particular establishment.

We visited Turner’s Cut to celebrate my brother’s birthday, and while there were some highlights, the overall experience missed the mark for a fine dining restaurant.
First, the positive: our server, Najee, was absolutely AMAZING. Attentive, professional, and welcoming—truly the highlight of the evening. The drinks were well-crafted, and the appetizers were enjoyable and set a promising tone.
Unfortunately, that’s where it ended.
The main courses were disappointing across the board. For a restaurant at this price point, the food quality and execution were lacking. The steaks were overcooked, bland, and—most concerning—had a strong fuel-like smell that was overpowering and left a charred taste. We ordered the American NY Wagyu and the bone-in ribeye, and both suffered from this issue. The potatoes served with the steaks were completely cold, and the scallops and risottowere also cold and bland. Temperature and seasoning were consistently off.
It also wasn’t just our table—the table next to us voiced similar concerns. One guest hesitated to complain, but his wife summed it up perfectly: “This isn’t Outback—the food should be prepared as ordered at this price point.”
Overall, I’d give Turner’s Cut 3 stars, and that rating is primarily due to our excellent server. Based on this experience, I wouldn’t rush to return, though I hope the kitchen improves to match the level of service.
