We had not been to Ume before and I was searching for somewhere new to us. We love sushi but haven't had it for some time. It was my birthday and we had a fantastic time. The service on point. Food was delicious (and we were guided through the menu by the staff)! It was my birthday and my husband and I were each offered a glass of champagne. So much better than cake. Coincidentally, Chef's birthday was the same, and we all toasted together!

We tried this place for the first time this Saturday for lunch. Amazing lunch specials on sake , cocktails, and food. $15 for three rolls sushi - great price and high-quality! Service was outstanding. Thank you, Tina, our waitress.

Well, this is not a good place if you know how truly authentic sushi should taste. The rice was terrible and far too much for nigiri. The scallops were frozen, even though they were claimed to be from Hokkaido. The Osaka Scallop Box and Toro Osaka Box are the two most expensive maki rolls on the menu, yet the amount of fish in them was laughably small. The green tea was tasteless. There are many much better sushi places in Houston. Also, our waiter forgot part of our order.

We went for my wife's birthday and it was a wonderful experience. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about everything he brought out. The restaurant itself has a great atmosphere and is perfect for a night out or date night.

Nice intimate spot for decent sushi bites. Casual atmosphere but very clean with beautiful decor. Food was average, but served by amazing waitress. I recommend trying it out.

A bit disappointed from the expectations set from friends’ recommendations. Staff seemed a little less than knowledgeable. Three different times the server returned to our table telling us they were out of the dish we had ordered. Had to rethink the menu 3 times. Think a place like this would be better prepared mid week. Food we finally received was decent.

Magnificent, at every level... even though UNE does not have Omakase, probably better, because one can always order the waiter under one's preferences / guidelines to select... Have never had less than a superb experience here

Went here last night for the first time. We were just walking down the Hike & Bike trail and figured we wanted sushi. So glad we stopped in. Tina was our server and she was a delight. The food was incredibly good. They have several cuts of fish which I haven’t seen hardly anywhere around here.
I have to say more than the food was the teamwork that impressed us. Everyone worked so well together. It was like precision clock work. Would love to go back. Give this place a try!

We had a great dinner at Ume. We ordered the omikase and the chefs prepared about 12 dishes that were each exceptional. The fish was extremely fresh, seasonings were subtle and perfectly paired with the fish and presentation was beautiful. The ambiance was lovely with great decor, open kitchen with experienced chefs and great service. Highly recommend!
