Bun slut was good. The service from the bar was prompt. The bar had decent selection of beers and cocktails. The food hall itself smelled like a sewer. Random areas you would get a whiff a sewage. Otherwise good food selection. Typical Houston problems it's tricky to find parking and dodging homeless people on the way in

Blink, and you'll miss this adorable food hall tucked away on Prairie Street, just a block from the Magnolia hotel where we've been staycationing for nearly a decade.

With options ranging from Asian food, everything birria, Nashville hot chicken, a wall of beer on tap and burgers to an arcade, cute wall art and tasty cakes, this is a great spot for comfort food after a night on the town or gathering with friends. It's also a good spot for kids.

My only critique is that I if I used a wheelchair or had kids in a stroller, I don't know how I'd get to the main floor. This food hall is literally underground: The cake spot is the only vendor on street level; to get to the main dining room, one must descend about 20 steps. I have not found an elevator to make this spot more accessible. If there is one, I hope the owners respond to this review so I can make a happy update.

Kid-friendliness: This is a good place for kids who don't need to be in a stroller. The main area is downstairs, and I'm not aware of an elevator.

Wheelchair accessibility: The main area is downstairs, and I'm not aware of an elevator.

Cool place to grab a bite late night, there are a lot of homeless individuals outside but once you get into the place you wouldn’t even know. We had drinks from the bar and had Mac & Cheese chicken fries from Rick and Tommy’s.

Food AMAZING! was made to order seasoned very well and was reasonably priced for the portions provided. Couldn’t finish it all but definitely had leftovers for the next day, popped them in the toaster oven and they were just as good.

Drinks we had a Paloma and a Bellini again really great where not overpowering and just overall were great conversation starters.

The atmosphere is a bit loud music wise, on top of them yelling your name for your order typical kitchen sounds and such you also have the music blaring over the loud speaker and the walls/ base from the place next door. On the plus side had a good variation of music playing.

Overall highly recommend you give them shot.

Ordered Uber eats. Double burger and slut fries were good, especially when you are really really hungry, meat can use a little more seasoning but other than that, really good

Review is for Bunslut. Placed order online. Walked over before estimated pick up time. As I walked in, I checked status which said order was still being prepared. After 10 minutes, checked again and it said order was ready. Went to counter and asked. Guy in the back just pointed at the ordering screen. Thinking it was a language barrier, I repeated I was picking up an order in Spanish. Guys looked around until I said it one more time and confirmed my name. A different guy said "oh yes! We called your name earlier" Weird, but probably a glitch and my order was ready before I got here.

Onto the food. I've had a patty melt (months) before which was delicious and the reason I was coming back. This time, wanted to try a simple burger but made the mistake of getting bacon. Don't make this mistake. Worst bacon I've ever had. Drive thru fast food bacon has been better. It's dark, but not crispy. It looks cooked, but so stringy and chewy. Removed it all from my burger. Kinda ruined it for me, but just order something without bacon and you'll be OK

The tea shop there has the BEST peach iced tea I’ve ever had in my life. Planning another trip just for the tea!

If your looking for a place that has a variety of food options, this is it! They have about 6-8 vendors so everyone can find something to eat.

If I could give Rick & Tommy's Underground Kitchen in Downtown Houston a ZERO, I WOULD.
My 1st time coming to this place and it will be MY LAST! I ordered a Cuban Sandwich, after 1/2 an hour with (NO CUSTOMERS) my sandwich wasn't ready. I asked how much longer and they said "soon". They then dropped the fries, still another 15 minutes later, I finally got my food. When I walked back to my daughter's condo, (5 minutes walk) open the foam container, the fries was raw, full of brown grease, I threw them away.
This whole underground thing was so dirty, I don't know how they passed The Health Department Inspections!!! 🤮🤮 I have pictures, but there's nowhere to attach them. 😩👎👎.
My grandson ordered 2 burgers and fries at BunSlut, ate his food while waiting for mine.
I am visiting my daughter (from Las Vegas).

I paid $20 for this at The Birria restaurant and asked for sour cream, because they didnt add any, and the manager tried to charge me extra for it. He said that was the correct serving of sour cream. I found the manager of the establishment and she told me that I would receive a refund and when I asked the Man at the Birria place he told me she was a liar. I brought her to him and he tried to then say I was lying and that he told me I would get a refund if i brought my food back. This was definitely racially motivated and extremely unprofessional. His behavior was extremely disrespectful over sauce that I paid for and didn’t receive on my food initially.

I picked up food at BunSlut. Water is dripping from the ceiling onto the food prep area. The staff watched me order, didn’t tell me they were out of fries until I asked, and didn’t tell me they were out of the cereal for my shake until they called me for pickup. They charged $1 for one small slice of lettuce and another $1 for one small slice of tomato. At $1 each I expected more. Overall, poor service, average quality and taste for above average price, in an unsanitary environment.

Love this place. One of my favorite food halls to go to late at night. If you want to experience the Houston downtown without going to a club this place is a great option.

Parking: Parking is kind of challenging but hey, it’s downtown!

I had such a great time enjoying the great environment and being served by Lu which has outstanding customer service and very good knowledge about drinks and places to go around town. Looking forward to coming back to have a good time.
