We had an amazing experience at Verandah this week end! It’s a beautifully modern restaurant with a warm ambience, stylish decor, and an overall positive atmosphere. The food exceeded expectations—from presentation and portion size to the authentic and delicious flavor.
As vegetarians, we were delighted to find a wide variety of Indian dishes that truly captured traditional taste. The staff was courteous, attentive, and provided excellent service throughout our visit.
Highly recommend Verandah for anyone looking for a great Indian fine dining experience.

Came here for a nice night with the wife and decided to try a upscale Indian restaurant. This place delivered every time. My wife had a tasting menu while I went a little more traditional for myself (samosas, house curry, and a bread variety basket) the samosas were first class and well balanced and prepared while not overly fried. The house curry (tariwala) was fantastic. It was very smooth with a great amount of spice. My wife greatly enjoyed her tasting meal with paneer pinwheel, galouti, and baigan chaat and she had the best experience possible. In addition servers were very attentive.
Would recommend to all!!

A True Culinary Gem of Indian Flavors! 🌶️🍛
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this wonderful Indian restaurant, and it was truly one of the most memorable culinary experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the moment we stepped inside, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and a cozy, inviting atmosphere that set the stage for a delightful meal.
The food was absolutely outstanding! My children couldn't get enough of the chicken tikka and the flavorful seekh kebabs, while the dal makhani was rich, comforting, and bursting with authentic flavors—we savored every bite.
A special mention must go to Chef Sunil and Chef Anu, whose passion for their craft truly shines through. They came across as sincere, kind-hearted individuals with deep-rooted values, and their dedication to both quality and hospitality is evident in every aspect of the dining experience.
I wholeheartedly recommend Verandah restaurant to anyone looking to enjoy exceptional Indian cuisine paired with heartfelt service. Don’t miss the chance to experience their incredible food and warm hospitality!

We visited Veranda to celebrate our daughter’s 7-month birthday, hoping for a memorable dining experience at a chef-run restaurant. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a major letdown in terms of both food and hospitality.
We were initially impressed by the warm welcome—the chef herself greeted us and led us to our table, which set high expectations. I ordered a drink called Aasmani Firdaus (described as a lemony blue lagoon), but it turned out to be overwhelmingly sugary with no hint of tang. I politely informed the chef and asked if I could replace it with another drink. She declined, saying it was made specifically for me, but offered to add more lemon juice instead. When she returned it, the flavor was still the same—cloyingly sweet. I mentioned this to her, but she said nothing and moved on, which felt dismissive and lacking in basic hospitality.
As for the food, it was far from what one would expect from a chef-curated menu. We started with the Beetroot Galouti, which was excessively salty. The Tandoori Platter also disappointed—especially the shrimp, which were again too salty. For mains, we ordered Taiwala Chicken and Lamb Rogan Josh. The chicken tasted as if it had just been tossed into pre-made gravy, lacking depth or cohesion. The Methi Paneer Kofta was mediocre at best.
The biggest disappointment came at the end—the dessert. We ordered Ghevar, which took nearly 20 minutes to arrive. When it did, it was hard, chewy, and tasted stale—nowhere near the authentic texture. I’ve had far better Ghevar at local places like Nirmanz’s, which are much closer to what you’d find in India.
To make matters worse, the entire experience cost us $247 which felt like a complete waste. For that amount, we could have enjoyed great food and better service at two or three regular restaurants.
Sadly, Veranda did not live up to the hype or price. A special occasion turned into a disappointing evening.
Responding to Owner’s Comment
1. When I first mentioned that the drink was still not good—even after adding lemon—you ignored my concern instead of addressing it properly. This reflects poorly on how guest feedback is handled. If I felt my input would be dismissed, there was no point in continuing the conversation. My time and energy deserve more respect.
2. Yes, my husband asked for salt for his non-vegetarian dish, which is entirely separate from my comment about the Beetroot Galouti. We are both entitled to our taste preferences, and one has nothing to do with the other.
3. The incident you described simply did not happen. It seems you respond to negative reviews with similar fabricated claims, which raises doubts about the credibility of your responses across the board. Rather than deflect criticism, I suggest focusing on improving your service and food quality. Making up stories to undermine genuine feedback is not a sustainable approach. Accept criticism with an OPEN MIND—IT WILL BENEFIT YOUR RESTAURANT MORE THAN DENIAL EVER WILL.

We visited Veranda with high expectations, but the experience was underwhelming. While the chef’s initial greeting was warm, the service fell short. My wife’s drink (Aasmani Firdaus) was overly sweet instead of tangy, and when she requested a replacement, it was denied—only lemon juice was added, with no real improvement.
The food was average. The Beetroot Galouti and shrimp were overly salty, the Taiwala Chicken tasted like it came from a pre-made sauce, and the Ghevar dessert was stale after a long wait. The quality and service were disappointing.

Verandah in Houston offers a unique dining experience blending traditional Indian flavors with American influences. The decor features elegant marble floors and wine bottle walls, creating a sophisticated ambiance. There are many signature dishes we liked. Service is somewhat slow, but the overall experience was enjoyable, making it a worthy destination for those seeking innovative Indian cuisine. The restaurant’s fusion approach and presentation elevate it beyond typical offerings, earning a solid recommendation for adventurous diners. Will definitely come again.
