I’m not sure how I found this spot, but tonight I tried Vinoteca Poscol. The inside is super intimate and cozy—so much so that I didn’t feel comfortable filming the tables. I came alone and sat at the bar.
Started with the calamari, which also comes with shrimp and potatoes. No dipping sauce, which had me a little worried at first, but honestly, it didn’t need it. Then I had the chicken cacciatore with polenta—so good.
Since they had pizza on the menu, I gave it a shot. It was decent, but nothing special. Ended the night with an Americano and dates—perfect way to wrap up the meal.
If you’re into Italian food, definitely add this to your list

We love the suppli and brussel sprout salad. Pizzas are excellent. My favorite is the macaroni with peas and prosciutto. Tastes just like what I’ve had in Italy.

We were thoroughly disappointed by our recent visit (or should i say non-visit) to Vinoteca. We had a reservation a month in advance for a special occasion at 7:30 (on a Wednesday night, not even peak time!). Upon arriving we were told that our table would soon be available and to wait at the bar.
About 7:40 they offered us a different table but made it seem inferior and smaller, while also assuring us that our original corner table would be available momentarily. So we chose to wait.
Cut to 7:50 and still no update, and they made no move to hurry up the people using our table. When we asked them, they rather rudely told us that we had turned down their earlier offer and still no update on our original table. No complimentary drinks or appetizers or really any consideration at all! Finally we got fed up and went to Sorrento down the street, where our last minute reservation was respected despite them being even busier than vinoteca was.
It’s all quite unfortunate and we are unlikely to ever come back.

I came in today , it is a beautiful restaurant, great food however the hostess at the front made me feel like I was intruding on some private event??She didn’t say more than 2 words (“how many?”) nor did she make eye contact, my family and I found it strange because every one else was really friendly but I got the impression she didn’t want to be there or was just having a bad day. In any instance it definitely didn’t give off a welcoming “hostess” vibe.

This unique spot is a great place for a nice meal with a great atmosphere making it feel like home! The food variety was great, the staff is attentive, and the quality of the meals was great. I will certainly be back to explore other dishes. Their drinks were also wonderful and flavorful.

Very cozy Italian restaurant. Local feel, nice service and atmosphere. Great choices for vegetarian. Ingredients are fresh, great taste and priced rationally. The small thing I dont like is the ravioli skin that needs maybe 1 minute more as it was a bit hard. Otherwise, perfect place to have a wonderful dinner.
Vegetarian options: Pizza, risotto, lots of appetizer choices, salads, ravioli, spaghetti etc.

We really enjoyed our meal here, from start to finish. The menu is designed for you to get a lot of little dishes, so be prepared to share and to try a lot of different things. The chicken liver pate bruschetta and the roasted carrots were stand out items, but none of the choices led us astray. We finished with the strawberry Panna Cotta, which was another winner.
Parking: Parking was very convenient compared to most restaurants in the area. The restaurant has its own lot.

Excellent Italian cuisine at a great price. They also have a great wine selection. The atmosphere has an old world charm.

Ate here on Saturday night. The hostess was the best employee on the house. Seating tables, taking orders, talking to new guest. The food is absolutely amazing. True authentic Italian fair, my best advice is to get a lot of small plates and share! Thank yall so much!

The place is really cute and small with a romantic ambience. It's good for romantic date nights. At night the dim light and cozy vibe of this place is amazing. We tried :
1. Margherita pizza - which was very light and filling for 1 person. The crust was thin and crispy. Loved the taste. 4/5
2. Cheese ravioli pasta. - this was in butter sauce and was really light and tasty. 4/5
3. We got tiramisu brule complementary on the occassion of our anniversary. The taste was frest and really good. 4/5
I must say the food was fresh and really tasty.
Overall, the experience was incredible.

My go-to place in Houston. Amazing food, cozy and romantic vibe, and not crazy expensive (although prices have gone up). I love it every time and it makes me feel like being home.

I visited Vinoteca Poscol with a group of 10 friends for a birthday dinner. The restaurant itself exuded charm and had a pleasant ambiance, yet regrettably, my positive impressions ceased there.
To begin with, I anticipated a fee for bringing our own cake, but $3 per person seemed exorbitant. Whether we cut it ourselves or had the kitchen do so, the total came to $33. Typically, I've encountered fees ranging from $1 per person to a flat $10-$15 charge, making their $33 fee seem unreasonably steep.
Furthermore, the culinary experience left much to be desired, given the food's lackluster quality and inflated prices. My $20 pizza suffered from minimal toppings that slid off when I tried to pick it up, essentially resembling glorified cheese bread. Similarly, the $20 Cacio e Pepe dish struck me as overpriced for what essentially amounted to cheese and pepper tossed with pasta.
Adding to our disappointment, there were several undisclosed upcharges. Despite requesting 3 oz pours of wine, we received 6 oz pours without prior notice. Additionally, our order of a prosciutto and three-cheese board unexpectedly resulted in a doubled serving of prosciutto, costing an unexpected $28. The bill also included a $5 charge for a modest serving of bread slices.
Compounding these issues was the lack of clarity regarding payment arrangements. While we were aware that separate checks weren't an option, we confirmed with the hostess before seating that we could split the bill across different credit cards, only to find out later that each card had to be charged the exact same amount.
The apparent intent behind these additional charges, coupled with a mandatory 20% gratuity for our large party, left us feeling disregarded. The service itself was notably lackluster, with servers unable to accurately attribute dishes to their respective guests and meals arriving at our table at staggered intervals, preventing us from enjoying dinner together seamlessly.
In summary, while Vinoteca Poscol boasts an appealing atmosphere, the excessive fees, mediocre food quality, unexpected upcharges, and subpar service detracted significantly from what should have been a celebratory dining experience.

DO NOT COME HERE WITH LARGE PARTIES OR FOR BIRTHDAYS! I came here with 10 friends for my birthday last Friday.
Problem 1: They wouldn't do separate checks, which I knew ahead of time, however, the hostess told me they could put different amounts on friend's credit cards. We get the bill and no, it was either split it evenly or I pay for it all. My friend did calculate wrong so I ended up having to pay the extra remainder of $60 on my birthday, instead of just having separate checks or even splitting it into 3 or letting us charge what we actually ordered.
Problem 2: They charge a $3/person cake cutting fee (even though we were going to cut it ourselves and had friends that weren't eating it due to allergy.) We had almost a $600 bill and they are still going to charge this? Petty. Joke's on them because we still didn't order dessert, and left unhappy. Ate my cake at the bar we went to after no problem, no charge.
Problem 3: Again, petty charges for BREAD in an Italian restaurant. Yes, they charged us $5 for a small loaf of bread on an almost $600 bill.
Problem 4: Friend ordered the 3 oz wine, but they charged us for the large. Found that they just upcharged everything like defaulting to larger sizes or just bringing the large when smalls were ordered.
Service was just okay, waiter knew he was getting the 20% either way. I just had pizza which was average. Overall, if you like to be nickel and dimed, this is your spot. All in all, major disappointment for my special night!
