“If you want to taste the VERY best of Houston, this is it! We ordered 3 different bowls and each one blew us away with depth of flavor, intense yummyness created with authenticity and uniqueness unlike anything else in this city! We will be back, often, as i feel the entire menu needs exploring. Wait staff were incredible which just put the icing on the cake. Thank you!“

“I took my father-in-law to the restaurant to try their Fisherman Soup for sentimental reasons and the soup didn't disappoint. My son had their vegetable soup and both were top level. I tasted some of my son's soup and I can tell you it was the best vegetable soup I've had. We tried their Nkowbi and it didn't disappoint. Everything tasted like your grandma's village cooking. If you go, call then ahead of time because they prepare everything from scratch.“

“The customer service was exceptional. I really enjoyed the fact that the person preparing the food went above and beyond to make sure I was happy before I left. She even gave me new food to try and a bottle of water before I left because it was my first time eating fufu and egusi. I will be back because at was treated kindly.“

“So i tried this place today. I am a sucker for a good customer service no matter who walk through your door(money is money). When I walked in the hostess was kinda cold so my first thought was another Nigeria place with attitude but I was determined to try it anyways, when the cook came out(I think she might be the owner) her attitude and presence was warm and friendly so needless to say I will be going back. As for the food.....Taste= 4/5 Portion= 5/5 cleanliness= 5/5 Customer service = 3/5“

“I stopped by this cozy African restaurant known for its succulent and finger-licking fish, soya, and alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages to spend quality time with my wife - Madame Chief, and friends.
We had a swell time and shall stop by on our next visit to Houston, TX.
You, too, are invited to discover the milieu and have a fun time that you shall forever remember.“
“I was in Houston for a wedding with my husband a couple of weeks ago and was so excited to find a Nigerian restaurant close to our hotel—Nativeport did not disappoint! From our very first order, the experience was nothing short of amazing, and it stayed that way for the four days we kept going back.
The owner was professional, dedicated, and most importantly, can seriously cook! I fell in love with food all over again. Everything we tried was authentic and delicious. I even ordered extra food to take back home to California, and she kindly froze everything to make sure it would travel well on my flight.
P.S. My last meal before flying out? Fried rice, plantain, and peppered goat meat—perfection!“

We ordered a variety of dishes :dibi lamb/ plantains and vermicelli , shawarma, 5 nems or egg rolls ,dibi chicken served with Fries which was one of the best chicken I have ever eaten . Meat was tender and marinade was on point !!!!!! We also enjoyed all three drinks however the ginger was our favorite . We will definitely come back and refer friends because it's a hidden gem in Houston and more people need to taste that Senegalese goodness Ps: thanks for the maad, awesome threat!!!!!“

“5 stars because this is the best food I’ve ever had. I frequently get the egusi soup with catfish and poundo. I could eat it every day! The only thing I don’t like is the unnecessary teasing and small talk that some of the male cashiers try to have with me mostly because I’m introverted so i really appreciate when the younger female cashier is there. Her service is quick, friendly and efficient.“

“From the moment we walked in the front door, even though it was busy, the gentleman who greeted us provided superb customer service. He made sure we were seated exactly where we wanted, brought water to the table promptly, and still managed to attend to other guests efficiently ….that alone was impressive. We actually drove an hour and 30 minutes to get there. While we were on the road, I kept saying, “I’m never driving this far again!” ..but I really wanted to try the food. And let me tell you, it was well worth the drive. When the food arrived, it was beautifully presented and piping hot. Even the powdered yam was wrapped neatly in what I believe was a palm leaf ….a nice touch. I ordered the seafood okra and egusi with assorted meat, and every bite was undeniably delicious. As someone who has eaten a lot of Nigerian food …especially for an American girl…I can confidently say this is by far one of the best experiences I’ve had. I’ll definitely be making that drive again before my summer vacation is over!“

“We order the Chicken+Beef Shawarma about 3-4 times a week, and it tastes amazing 90 percent of the times. I just wish the size and sauce could be a little more consistent. Nonetheless, we still order it almost every other day because when made good, no other shawarma places come close to this taste.“

“Food is definitely great, it's just quite slow, you might be lucky sometimes but you could call 20 minutes in advance and still wait 30 minutes when you show up but the suya especially when it's made by the owner himself, is most definitely worth the wait. He's the only one that can make faya suya differently from the suya in Jluv“

“I have ordered here a few times and food has always been good. Timing might not always be right (sometimes, it is very off) but the people have always been pleasant. However, I can understand how they can make customers upset because even when running late on orders, they address customers like they are nonchalantly telling their family/friends that dinner will be a little late. The pace of the cutomer service lady is also really slow! These can be upsetting to a paying customer who is on a time crunch.
I am not keen on their barbecue chicken nor their French fries but everything else I have tried so far, I like. We usually get the spring rolls, samosa, puff puff, mosa, and whole grilled fish. I really like their asun but think it is over-priced, so I pretty much leave that alone.
A dining lounge has been added to the business and looks like it would be a good place to bring family/friends, and even hold business meetings but I haven't used it, so I cannot review that part of their business. However, I do hope they make whatever they decide to show on the TV screens family friendly, especially the music as we were once very uncomfortable with the music videos playing in their pickup area as they were not children friendly at all!“

“My African people please great me with a smile when I walk in. I was visiting from Minnesota but since we don't have many african restaurants. I wanted to try some egusi in a place with more of an African community. Well I must say come to Minnesota and try Value Foods Africa Deli in
Brooklyn Center - I'm sorry to say it is so much better.
I would come back maybe I will try something else.
And please work on the menu - it is confusing - does the egusi come by itself or with rice (is it part of the meal or not?)
The fish please get rid of that sauce on top of it - just give me a fried or grilled on suya seasoning or something.
Lots of parking and clean bathroom“

“My boyfriend and I ordered takeout from here a few days ago and it was some of the best food we’ve had. We typically eat from Nigerian restaurants , so this was our first time trying Ghanaian cooking. We ordered Egusi soup and meat pies , the service was quick and kind. We will definitely be back to try more of their menu items. Highly recommend“
