It's a 5/5 spot if you've never been, but a 4/5 if you've had the old Yoyo's. Maybe that's just my nostalgia talking, though.
Houston natives remember the days when we had to line up in Rice Village for 45+ minutes on a humid summer evening for a hot dog at Yoyo's hot dog stand. How the times have changed! The price is now $8 instead of the old $4-5, but the charm is still there. Yoyo's is the great equalizer, where people of all nationalities and socioeconomic background meet to get an amazing late night bite.
The hot dog in general feels smaller than it used to be. I think it's less loaded with caramelized onion than it used to be, and the hot dog itself is smaller.
They don't make them like they used to, but it's still a banger of a hot dog. We've traded a 45+ minute wait in line for a smaller and more expensive hot dog. Best enjoyed while intoxicated or after midnight. I'll be back, though I hope they can continue loading the hot dog with the delicious toppings.
Edit: I had a problem with billing and called in and the OG Danny himself set me right. He's still got it, 10/5 service.

Used to visit the cart in rice village and had so many late night memories there. Being able to visit this place now any day of the week is great! The glizzys (hotdogs) are still the same great taste! The staff is always nice and happy to serve. I love sharing this place with family and friends.

The hotdogs are amazingly delicious! The Best in my life! When I and my husband had these hotdogs, we couldn't even stop eating them, we kept eating more and more without talking! Wow ! What a taste of heaven!!! Also, the manager Joshua was so professional and compassionate with amazing customer service ? He really cares the customers like his family. I highly recommend Yoyos Hot Dog to everyone! I guarantee it will make you true happiness ?

Best hot dogs ever. Seriously. Been eating them since 2011 when they were in Rice Village.
Terrible hogdogs!! Just had one made the marblized onions taster burnt and hard so they made me another one. Beef wiener was microwave taste chew. I drove 30 mins. The cashier guy was space out no people person. It gave bad taste to my mouth. Got go somewhere else and get better food.

Seeing a 1 item menu drew me to try their only item - the Yoyo Hotdog. They've truly perfected their craft.
Outside of the food - They're family owned and operated- super personable people. Definitely worth the price.

My hot dog fell apart as soon as I tried to take a bite, everything fell apart and the sausage itself tasted like any other hotdog, the crispy onions had no flavor, the sauce was okay, but not “life changing as it claimed”, for 8 dollars I’d recommend getting literally anything else at post.
