Delicious sushi lunch special. Really a treat for the price and location and atmosphere and everything. It's really a gem of a spot.

For Tuesday’s lunch, my brother suggested @zenjapaneseizakaya. They had several lunch specials…they all looked really good.Hubby and SIL both had the Tonkatsu Bento. I had the Sashimi Bento, which was so much food! Brother had the Chirashi. Dad had the Unagi Bowl and the Tempura. Everything was fresh and delicious.Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

Some of the best sushi and Japanese dishes in Houston without the price tag. We always see Japanese people eating here, so it must be authentic!

Feb-9: You know you're in the right place when you hear the sushi chef speak Japanese and several tables had Japanese speaking diners! Diverse menu. All of the dishes were good. They do cut their sashimi quite thick, requiring 2-3 bites per piece. Ask for salmon belly sashimi to be blow torched!

We had the spicy ramen and it was delicious ! Not as good as in Japan but this was quite fabulous still . Sushi was “good” to me but not as memorable as I thought it would be .

Genuinely surprised this place isn’t busier! We stumbled upon this place when our weekly sushi spot, Izakaya Wa, was too packed to seat us.Their sushi quality for the price is amazing!!! Their menu says they bring in their fish from Japan and the quality shows! Both times we’ve been here, the service has been great and the ambiance is a good mix of nicer but still comfortable (perfect for date night)!

Waitress kept us waiting the entire visit, dumplings had gristle, the seaweed salad was slimy and the eel was charred but cold and chewy. Terrible place. But nice music. ????? be warned #

Cozy setting. Have been here a few times and the food is consistently delicious. The unagi bowl is what I order most often. It's always perfectly prepared, and presented according to Japanese custom. The sushi dishes are superb, but this is my go-to spot for unagi!

I have been going there for 3 years, and seem they are going downtrends. They used to be good food and service, and the last time made me disappointed. Entries came way beyond the appetizer. The shrimp tempera inside the shaggy dog roll is cold. Renkon hasamiage fried skin is too hard to bit, and not crispy at all, and it came after I finished my sushi and roll. I totally understand it takes longer to prepare, but as a general service quality, the waiter should able to ask the kitchen prepare the appetizer first before preparing the sushi.

Great food and service, and a reasonably priced lunch menu for the quality. I like the interior ambiance and thoughtful design that takes it away from a strip mall feeling. Difficult parking for lunch on weekends because of Hot Bagel Shop next door.

Hands down a place I would visit again and again and again! The food quality is excellent! If you get seated at the bar and it’s not too busy you get a great meal like it was made in Japan itself! The ikura and anago are both excellent too! The staff are really friendly and helpful!

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Great menu. Try the hamachili, zero sea, tropical salmon, gyoza & udon. The pickled ginger was really great. The sushi chef was awesome, came to greet our table. Small place, make reservations.

One of the best, authentic Japanese restaurants in Houston! Ingredients are always top notch, dishes are beautifully prepared and presented. Consistently good, and their lunch bento boxes are some of the best deals around!
