We were a planned group of 40, and they did not have enough dedicated waiters on our room. One doing food and one doing drinks and neither could keep up. We had people not getting teas for 2 hours after asking 4 times and escalation to management and were done with dinners. Management never added additional support and one of the waiters had a bad attitude which made things worse. She even refused the hostess when she came into assist. We had a very large party. The service could have been better, but the communication was poor and so therefore the service suffered. For some reason, that we were not aware of, the server is allowed to make the determination of whether a party has been overserved. Had we been served that would’ve been an issue but most of us hadn’t even gotten our drinks yet.
The food was alright, not what I was expecting exactly, I got the fried catfish on rice, and it was rather bland. The jalapeño sauce and the sauce in the green beans were very flavorful, and the red beans and rice were great! The only complaint about the service I had was a waitress that wasn’t serving our table was cleaning the table behind us and she kept leaning the broom against the booth right behind my head, literally inches away from me.
