Batters & Brunch

I’ve gone to Batters and Brunch in Humble on 2 occasions. The first was in September 2024 for my birthday. I and 2 of my friends went there for brunch on my birthday. We were ignored when we went in. When we were acknowledged, we were told the wait would be over 30 minutes. We asked why it would be such a long wait because we saw seating available. The hostess said that a party of 10 made a reservation. Considering a party of 10 shouldn’t affect a 4- seat table for us we decided to leave and have brunch somewhere else.

I decided to give them another try yesterday October 27, 2025 with my husband. This time we were seated right away. We were given menus and we decided quickly what we wanted. We sat for 15 minutes before a waitress asked if we’d been helped. We gave her our order and she said she’d be back with our drinks… SHE NEVER CAME BACK. The last straw was seeing people who came in AFTER us get served food. The staff in, our observation, was just very unorganized. They aren’t rude, but they can’t keep up with who is supposed to be doing what and which customers they are supposed to be servicing. It’s really disappointing because I was hoping that this would be our new breakfast spot instead of driving into Houston for The Breakfast Klub.
Wish I could rate the food, but I’ve been twice and been unsuccessful in actually getting a plate!

​I ordered a burger for $16, which I found to be disappointingly small for the price. The experience was made worse by a billing error: I ordered the garlic parmesan topping, which the menu stated was $1.90, but I was charged $2.99. Due to the high cost, small portion, and incorrect charge, I felt the meal was poor value and will not be back.

Wait time was longer than expected (1hr-1 1/2). Had some type of error on their side when we first got their we were placed on the waiting list then somehow received notification that we were no longer on the waiting list which was strange. We went back and told them and they were able to put us back on the list. Overall it was a nice place. A little warm in the building, have to say chairs were definitely not very comfortable. Placed our food and that took another 45mins. Food was good I'll say that. However the cabbage can do a little bit less of the spiciness. Overall our waitress was nice and helpful. Wish the place was in a bigger building which explains why the wait time was longer. Love how the menu had so much to choose from thats a plus.

Pretty average. Flavors were okay, but they ran out of biscuits by 11AM 😩 major brunch foul.

Environment – 7/10:
Cute, clean, and modern inside — definitely Instagram-worthy. But it gets packed fast, so be ready to wait.

Service – 6/10:
Staff was friendly but a little all over the place. One of our orders didn’t even get put in 😬 but they did try to fix it.

Drinks – 5/10:
Nothing special and way overpriced for what you get. Houston has better brunch cocktails for less.

Overall: 6.25/10
It’s giving “good, not great.” Batters & Brunch looks the part, but they’ve got some work to do before it’s worth the hype.

Food was amazing. Ordered Titi’s soul food and omg it was delicious. The coconut and raspberry mimosa is amazing. Our waitress Jelena was amazing. Very attentive, friendly and a joy to be around.

Overall I rate this restaurant a 2. The wait is almost one hour and the wait to get your food is pretty much the same. The server would disappear for extended amounts of time. A 15% gratuity is automatically added so there’s no urgency. I did add an additional tip anyway due to being a server in the past. The restaurant is small, so be prepared to possibly sit outside. Won’t revisit, wasn’t worth the wait. No complaints on the food; the kitchen did a great job.

Today was my first time here after church and the wait time was about one hour but it is so worth it ! For one the parking is free & plenty of it so off to a great start ! I tried the TITI’S Plate that had Mac & cheese ( which I opted for the jalapeno Mac & cheese ) , cabbage , yams & comes with a waffle and chicken… I tried the sangria and a recommended fav mimosa flavor from Jelena everything was amazing! My server was Jelena and she was really nice and so tea & her make up is so cute ! This place has a good aesthetic along with good food and hospitality. This makes me SO happy to know the north side has some good eats cause I’m so tired of driving so far for food idk if I will like and sitting in traffic in sadness on the way back lmao so this is PERFECT! I couldn’t finish everything but the portions are really good ! I have enough for tomorrow . I will be back ❤️😊 thank you so much for my amazing experience! I pray this business last a long time. ALSO the cupcake place right next door and. Bee’s has an amazing carrot cake flavored cupcake that is to DIE FOR!!!! my back will forever be big but idc lmaooo 😂🥰
