This is the best Chinese buffet in Humble area in term of food quality. They recently remodeled food area and added more food selections which are even better than before.

Now they wan't to check your child's height to determine the price as a child or adult. My 9 year old is tall so she was going to be charged as an adult. Ridiculous
Never again

Look at your bill before paying! I was charged for an adult buffet for my 10 yo old son. I normally do check, but this time I didn’t and realized once I got home that I was charged incorrectly. They state the lunch price for a child 10 years old and younger is $6.95. I noticed they charged me $14.95 as an adult. Be careful.

We eat lunch here occasionally. Sometimes the food is so good that we want to come back for dinner. Other times like today it's nothing special. It's not bad but if this were my first time coming here I probably wouldn't come back again. Still a nice clean place with a good atmosphere.
Update: Today the food was very good!

The food is good but the way veterans or a veteran with a service dog are treated is something that needs to be shared.
For several years we have been treated with respect, but now we have to sit as far away from the buffet bar as possible. My dog sits under the table and most people don't even know she is there. None the less all i hear is no dogs at the bar.
I'm sorry to say any veteran or person with a service animal needs to stay away from Cafe East as you will get no respect from these people.

If I could give this 0 stars, I would. My parents went there today and saw live roaches. They asked to speak with the manager and were told there was no manager on site. This place needs to be closed down.

Went here for the first time. I’ve been to China Bear, Hibachi, and plenty of other Chinese buffets in Houston, and I can honestly say this is one of our favorites.

The food is noticeably fresher — not the usual generic dishes thrown in just to fill space under the excuse of “more choices.” You can tell the manager or owner really cares about quality.

Their sushi selection is great, and the steak was impressive. They also have fresh seafood like oysters and large, juicy shrimp. Even the restroom was clean, which says a lot about how they maintain the place.

I told my husband it might be more expensive than others in its category, but I was surprised — it’s actually not. We went on a Monday afternoon, and it wasn’t crowded like weekends, so I can’t speak for the weekend experience.

Overall, we highly recommend it. It’s our new favorite — and we’re glad it’s close to our new home.

and yes I used chatgpt to fix my grammar because if not, you'd scratch your head with what I am trying to convey lol
