Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen

Since moving to Houston 5+ years ago, this had become one of my daughter and I’s favorite restaurants. Somewhere convenient to grab a bite and enjoy a refreshing drink for a reasonable price. The various food selections, beverages (alcoholic/non alcoholic), and service usually is quite pleasant. Tonight was our second night eating here within 3wks. Both times we’ve been disappointed. The croissants were not baked long enough. Tonight I actually had to ask for a different batch. Both visits the baked fish was over cooked and dry, the broccoli bland and crunchy, a steak very gamey (definitely needed to be cooked longer) so we end up not eating it at all. Overall it definitely gives different kitchen staff/cook(s) vibes. I will say the drinks and our waiter were very nice and pleasant…..they were the highlight of the visit🤗👍

Service started off strong. Unfortunately, after our food hit the table, our waitress was not really focused on us. Even though she came around and asked how we were doing and we kept asking for refills and that she brought after we were almost done with our dinner. It partially wasn't her fault because she had to keep bringing the people next to us drinks because the fountain was not changed out and everything was flat and / or out and had to be serviced. So back of house failed her keep in mind this was roughly around 9pm.

Our waitress was wonderful, however the manager Chau Nguyen or something of that nature (on duty 3/18 7:37) was very rude and condescending. A drink came out halfway filled. We told our waitress. The manager then comes over and asks what the issue is. We then tell her. She said well I’ll fill it with juice, I’m not putting alcohol (tone very condescending). It seemed as though she was racially profiling. As no one asked for more alcohol. She could have just took the drink and remade it. Her attitude and Professionalism was off very off putting. We suffered a family loss today. We came to cheddars to take our mind off of it. We were met with rudeness from the very person that should have had the most professionalism.

A place with a good atmosphere to chat with friends and have a good dinner.

The only thing that was good was the chicken fried chicken.
The waiter was very slow and I changed to a different table and the waitress just put others before me. I had an all around bad experience at this location in humble tx
I don't recommend this location.

I go for the "top shelf Grand margaritas" and the friendly generous bartenders....

We decided to give this place a second chance after having a bad experience a while back and we regretted it. The experience this time was even worse than last time. Don't waste your time and money. We sat at the table for about 10 minutes before anyone even approached us about drinks. It took 30 minutes for me to even get my drink. On top of that the food wasn't good and the restaurant was very dirty.

Chicken fried steak was awful it taste like leftover’s

Food came out hot and delicious. The honey butter croissants were amazing as always. Our server, Madison, was so sweet and attentive. It was super busy so food took about 30-45 min to come out, but it was hot and yummy. The only negative to our experience this time had nothing to do with Cheddar's. There were patrons sitting at the bar screaming their whole conversation for everyone to hear. It was hard to hear yourself think. So if you go, try to get seated away from the bar. Unfortunately, those were the only seats available at that time.

On Saturday we decided to do take out customer service over the phone was great, also when I arrived customer service was also great. The food was good when we got it home. The only complaint I have is my dad’s salad was missing and we didn’t have the bread. I was going to order bread but she said each entree would have bread & we didn’t. But other than food was good, price was good & customer service was good.

I got served hard crunchy rice and chicken that was more rubbery than the tires on my truck. The rice was so bad, that it was visibly problematic without even tasting.
Sent it back and didn’t ask for anything else but another drink. The waitress was nice and courteous but that is the only positive thing i can report. The food was awful. Hard rice and rubbery chicken; I won’t be back.

Service doesn't exist here. The bartender took the drink order and disappeared. After I realized I'd been waiting over 15 minutes and the young bartender still hadn't come back, I walked out. DISAPPOINTING!

Earlier today (Sat., 03/01/2025) my mother and I went to Cheddar's located in Humble, TX on FM1960. During our visit I received a text from hostess desk at 2:24p to let me know our table was ready for ud to be seated since there was 10-15 min wait. The host led us to our table and the sight where we were to be seated was terrible! There was food all over the floor under and around our booth. Apparently, it did not bother the host because he still attempted to seat us, while trying to sweep the food away with his foot, only to cause more mess, because it was smearing and crumbling under the weight of his foot. Both my mother and I in unison said, "We're not sitting here!" That's when he decided to say he'll get the vacuum to clean it up. It needed more than just vacuuming. Mind you, where he was seating us was about 3 feet from a table that seated a large party that needed cleaning badly. The dishes and remains from the guests eating were still there and the floor was just as nasty where he was seating us. My mother and I left before the host came back with the vacuum. We both were just completely turned off and went somewhere else to eat.

The food was great, customer service was on point, the drink was perfect. I highly recommend when you visiting stop at this location.
