The food and ambiance were great. We felt they need more wait staff and more training for the waiters. Our waiter was trying to service too many tables and not aware of his time. For example; we were ready for our food then our check and he was giving food and checks to tables that had been seated after us. It's very annoying to see tables served and leaving restaurant, that were seated after us, and we didn't have our check yet. I think more training and awareness of time is needed. We love Tosca Americana and the food is excellent. We will return for sure.
This was for Mother's Day. The restaurant was super small which is fine but their buffet layout was extremely inconvenient so it was hard to move around the tables and lines. The food tasted old and dry. The desserts honestly tasted like they were store bought. My biggest complaint was that it was $40 per person for food that wasn't fresh. Overall, it wasn't worth the time, effort or money.
We went for Mother's Day Brunch. It was more money than what I was quoted over the phone, and yes I did specify Mother's Day. There were 12 of us and our server Renaldo was great. But the buffet was lacking. Everything was cold. The eggs in the Benedict were hard as rocks. The only thing hot was the egg station, even the pasta was not hot enough. Would have appreciated more breakfast dishes. Overall it left something to be desired and certainly not worth over $700.
Its taken me awhile to write a review because I was very upset. The last 2 times we have gone there for brunch. After we eat and order another mimosa, both time the waiter came to our table and said we were not allowed to order another mimosa because they needed our table for the next customers. Which we could understand but the restaurant was not even full. There were plenty of open tables and no one was waiting to be seated. I have never been kicked out of a restaurant before.
We dined at this restaurant approximately three months prior and had a good experience with good food. On this day, the experience was awful. We ordered the same pasta dish that included crawfish and shrimp. The peeled tails of the crawfish should have been included like before but no, got the entire crawfish smothered in red pasta sauce. Needless to say, it was a mess trying to peel and to top it off, not even fresh. The shrimp were on skewers and not cooked thoroughly. We felt like the kitchen was being lazy. The second dish was requested with angel hair pasta which the waiter assured us would happen. Of course not the case when the dish arrived. And, they didn't have the wine we ordered that was listed on the wine menu. Not sure what is going on with this restaurant but definitely not the best way to celebrate your anniversary! On this day, the restaurant did not live up to the standards of similar restaurants listed on OpenTable.
We were seated immediately even though we were early for our reservation. Drink specials were explained and items on the buffet were described. Food was excellent and great variety. Just the right amount of attention from servers-kept table cleared, drinks filled, but didn't hover
We have been to Tosca Americana many times, we went last year for Easter, it was wonderful. This year we went for Easter, had a 10:15 reservation, restaurant opened at 10, first seating time was 10 AM. The selection was poor, at 10:30 & even 10:45, they were still putting out food, bread, bagels, desserts, at that point, we were already well into our meal, at 10:30, the dressing was not out for the salad, I had to ask and wait. The French toast was cold, the bacon was undercooked & looked raw. Was very disappointed in the meal, that the restaurant was not prepared & all food options were not available at our sitting. I'm sorry but, when you're paying $30 a person, a nice place like this should have everything ready & available when you have your first seating at 10 AM. The serving line was congested with staff trying to finish setting up when we were getting out food. I would have asked for a discount & complained to the manager but, it was Easter & didn't want to upset my family. Very disappointing. $100 WASTED.
Food was not the quality I expected. Tosca Americana came highly recommend by a friend but we must have come on a bad night. The blackened chicken Alfredo was very salty, the pork chop was dry. Service was inadequate even though the we had three servers waiting on our table. The calamari was good, though! We will probably not return based on the amount we spent for an subpar experience.
Overall was great. We loved the food, the environment was great. The only bad thing was our waitress, she was kind of rushing us to leave. I think her shift was about to end and she wanted for us to hurry up. She brought our ticket without even asking if we wanted something else. It was rude. I think she finally left and another lady brought us water and asked if we needed or wanted anything else. We recommend the restaurant, food is delicious but hope you don't get the same waitress we got.
Terrible service. Place seemed in a disarray when we arrived. Here is the list of issues that impacted our visit; - Loud music playing which made it difficult to hear our party - I had to to grab a high chair for my daughter as the hostess looked lost and abandoned us when we sat - It took us 30+min just to get a menu - We didn't realize bread was available (as we were starving) till we looked at other tables - The waitress kept over talking to every party she had about her life Only bright spot...the food was fresh and overall decent (way too much rosemary in one of our dishes)

We made reservations for 7:00 on Valentine's Day through Open Table. When we arrived, they didn't have our reservation marked down. I showed my confirmation email, so she wrote my name down. We waited 15 minutes, watched the pure chaos because everyone in line had the same reservation time, and it was clear we wouldn't be sitting down within the hour. Lots of upset people were sitting at tables without a waiter. All the restaurants who were honoring reservations were booked, so we went to a hole in the wall for dinner. I won't make the same mistake again.
Our first visit to this restaurant and was recommended by regional newspaper. The food arrived late, the appetizers and dishes served were cold, the risotto had no flavor and it looked more like an oatmeal, the main dish was the only thing that could be appreciated to the palate and taste. The dessert was a small portion. We arrived at 7:00 p.m. and left almost at 10:00 p.m. I hope you prepare better for a next occasion in this type of events in which the client is demanding for the quality of the service he is paying. This is a constructive criticism of customers who frequent high quality culinary places. Hope that they fix the food supply chain in the service.
This was our first, and probably last time to dine here. Reasons: Seated at small table, looking into hallway to restrooms on one side, and looking at kitchen door and sink in another direction. First course, my food arrived 5 - 10 minutes before my wife's. Second course, also mine arrived before wife's. Her food was cold. At neighboring table, their dessert was brought out before their main course. Third course, finally came out at the same time. (Steaks) Potatoes and spinach under the steak was warm. Food around corners was cold. First time I have had a filet with gristle. Had to cut with dinner knife. No steak knife provided. Dessert - strawberry shortcake was edible. My wife got the smallest slice of cheesecake I have ever seen. Should have been an embarrassment to restaurant. And the consistency of the cheesecake was not good, almost watery. Summary - Restaurant bit off more than they could chew. The size of the crowd overwhelmed them. Waitress worked hard, so I did leave her a reasonable tip. But no tip for the restaurant.
After hearing good things about Tosca, I decided my birthday would be a good time to try it with the whole family. As it was just the day after New Years and very rainy, we were one of only two tables in the restaurant that night. The atmosphere , for being in a shopping strip, was very nice sans one thing, mounted TV's at the top of the walls....really??? What seemed like a classy ‘bistro' style setting with great music suddenly changed when I saw the multiple TVs tuned into crappy current tv shows. Our waitress was very efficient, though a little chatty. The food fortunately proved to be very good!! We had Cedar planked Salmon, NY strip, Filet Mignon, and Seafood Fra- Diavilo, everyone cleaned their plates! I will go back, but I will hope the TVs disappear?
Ate the brunch buffet. The food was mostly warm and not hot. The food was rather bland and boring. Overall, not worth the cost per person. Will give them a try when the full menu is available, perhaps just a buffet thing.
