Well I been going here since 2008 and they have changed locations at least three (3) times. Now the tamales aren't as good as they used to be. Wonder if they changed ownership. I don't see any of the family that worked there and said they owned it.

Ridiculously small tamales! Totally not worth the price! Also a bit too salty.
When you enter the store it has a strong odor of gas. Not pleasant. Will never go there again

I understand that the cost of pretty much everything has gone up but that doesn’t mean that the quality has to go down. This place use to be the go to spot in the area. It seems like since they expanded, the overall quality has gone down.
The taste is still good but as the pictures show, this was the standard size for each of the dozen. If I’m paying $16 a dozen then it shouldn’t look like a churro. I’ll make the drive to Alamo Tamales from now on.
Do better Granny’s.

The quality of these tamales has completely went downhill. They were unbelievably small, dry & not what they use to be.

Found the food bland. Have had way better ones from other local markets.

1st time to try Tamales here and they were absolutely delicious! The rice and beans were also delicious!
We have been customers for years and buy several dozen at a time. We tried their new brisket tamales today, October 30 2024, and they may be our new favorite! We freeze some so we always have some on hand. We have never had any better tamales! Be sure to order early for the holidays as they get very busy and may not have the ones you want on hand if you just walk in. It has happened to us only once as after that we buy early or order early.

Bought 2 1/2 dozen at the Boofest 10/26/24 and am very disappointed. 1.) their size is relatively small 2.) they crumble when you unwrap them, 3.) I bought chicken, cheese, and jalapeño and aside from a few droppings of cheese and jalapeño here and there, they were rather empty, no chicken at all. It was like I just paid for the dough/masa and it wasn't even prepared right as dough does not crumble when you unwrap a tamal.
