My mushroom and Swiss burger was dry, sister had the same thing and hers was dry as well. We both got extra mayo too, and put even more on afterwards ourselves. That didn't moisten it any at all. Fries were great though, and the milkshakes are

This has to be one of my favorite burger places lately! This ain't McD's, Whataburger or In and Out type of hyped overpriced bland burgers! These are big juicy quality burgers! The pattie are always fresh and flavorful! The veggies are also fresh and never skimpy! You will get full! The fries are great regardless of how you order them and the onion rings are wonderful as well!One of my favorites is the Blue cheese Bacon Burger and it has always consistent! Very glad I found this gem and can wait to try other locations now that they are branching out!
Today is my first time trying Hippo burger. Excellent burgers, perfectly cooked and very tasty. You get a lot of food for your money here. Highly recommend, 5 stars for sure.

Don't be fooled by the plain Jane exterior. The burgers are HUGE, the taste rocks and the service is fast.You have choices of almost all burger toppings known to mankind. A burger alone is around $9; a combo with fries and a drink is around $14 - not bad at all for a half pound burger.

Well, I have to say I don't think that Hippo Burgers deserves a 4.5 star rating. They are not bad and the service was decent ( although there weren't but a few customers there). The staff was friendly. The problem is the same as most chains. They use frozen burgers so although it was a nice size it was overcooked and dry. Not a hint of pink anywhere. The crust on the meat however, was nice, bun was OK. Still looking for a great, fresh, med rare, juicy burger in Houston. Somebody help please.
