Fun to find chiliquilas Suiza in the menu. It's a pile of chips with green sour and sour creme with toppings and egg. Suiza is an old school salsa invented by a Swiss chef in Mexico. It's delicious. Different than salsa verde. Friends had the 7 grain bowl and eggs Benedict. Def get the Suiza.

We have been regulars at Humble City Cafe for almost 20 years. Something has really changed with the food quality this year. We keep trying hoping it is a fluke, but the last half dozen times we have come the food has just not been good. This used to our favorite place for down home southern food. My favorite chicken-fried-chicken is now pounded so thin that it comes out dry (see photo). The Thursday pot roast special has also been dry and resembled pulled pork today. This seems to be the case for almost everything we have tried in the last few months. Why has it changed from food that used to be so great? The service has still been incredible, the problems are all with the kitchen preparation. Food under-seasoned, over-cooked, cooked incorrectly. Even the corn bread was dry and seemed old. Today may have been the last straw where we will be looking for a new place for down home southern food.

Highly disappointed! Coffee was over price food was okay. No generous portions. Over priced in my opinion!

We waited way too long for our food. There was only two other table there. The coffee was yuck. For the price we payed it was not worth it. We have been there several times before and the service and food were good.

Country Cafe set in a building from 1914. Very comfortable and relaxing place to eat. Lots of variety on the menu and delicious food. Everything from meatloaf to chicken fried steak, chicken fried chicken, fish, chicken fingers, fried green tomatoes, homemade potato chips and desserts ranging from banana pudding to peach cobbler, blackberry cobbler and German chocolate cake.

The use to be the place to go.
Small milk is 3.89. Thought maybe the waitress would mention sodas are included but milk is extra. Mac & cheese was good. Chicken parm was horrible..

this place is the best place. It's a feel-good spot to get food. While the food is pretty good, the restaurant as a whole has a really interesting atmosphere that makes a visit pretty great every time.

Really disappointed. Kids chicken tenders had zero seasoning and the breading was strange. Fried mushrooms and fried zucchini had better breading and good flavor. The banana pudding was more vanilla pudding than banana. Tried the bottle root beer, just ok. The tea was fresh which is important!

You would be a fool to go to cracker barrel or ihop when this place exists just down the road.

Food is ok but the prices are a bit expensive for what you get. This place use to be affordable but their “daily specials” are definitely not special prices. The lady taking our order was rude and acted annoyed that she had to be there. Nonetheless, we were friendly and tipped as if she was amazing.
