It's a great place for a Boy Scout to go for summer camp.I helped build the place.Using dynomite to blast holes in the limestone for bathrooms.My boss was a hard driving old feller we called Uncle Duder.I hope the camp manager's house is still there.It was right next to Bear Creek which flows down the middle of the camp,right into the North fork of the Guadalupe River.

my husband I rode out tryke up from Carthage to eat here. the ride was lovely. the food was fantastic. we each got a sandwich -- mine was chopped brisket, his was pulled pork -- and we shared the potato salad and bourbon baked beans. then we window shopped in the store. everyone was so nice and would often stop and ask us how we were enjoying ourselves. we will definitely go back. thank you everyone.

Hard to put into words how one of a kind and amazing this place is. My in laws came here in the summer with my kids and highly recommended this place so we were driving through and didn’t hesitate to stop by. The food was the best I have ever had and on top of that all the staff were very welcoming and kind. The best part though, was having the greatest pleasure of meeting the amazing owners Robbie and Tracy of this place. The sweetest, most kind and genuine people you will ever meet . This place was recommended by our waitress in Jefferson. We swung by on our way back home after spending a week in the area. All I can say is everyone was so nice, helpful and knowledgeable. This place is absolutely amazing and breathtaking taking! I got a beautiful hair on hide and some yummy meat to take home. We will be back when we can stay longer and eat some of that delicious smelling food!

My husband and I had the pleasure of visiting Bear Creek Smokehouse for the first time today. It did not disappoint. We enjoyed the variety of bacon and sausage options available, we purchased several after sampling. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and the customer service was excellent. We felt like family, and we look forward to enjoying our togo lunch.
