Nonsense local bbq joint has the best bbq you can have in the most familiar and cozy enviroment. I gave 4 stars in service simply because service is sllloooowwwww! However you will hardly find a better place for authentic bbq like Bennie Js in the sorrounding areas including Houston. If you want to transport yourself to an old school bbq that screams authenticity and Texas the way it should be, Come here. Ohhhh, and don't leave without your Pecan Pie slice or you will seriously regret it.

Delicious tender brisket, sauce was so very good, yummy potato salad, and lunch topped off with THE BEST dessert... buttermilk pie! Staff, owners, chefs made extra effort to make sure everyone was pleased with the food and they were so caring. Friendly atmosphere. Excellent food. Live music preparing to be there tonight. This was our first time here. We will be back! You must try this place if you love good barbeque!
We had Jalapeno sausage and brisket, and buttermilk pie. Home made and delicious. Brisket was moist and tender. Smoke was just right. Highly recommend these folks.

It may not be a fancy BBQ place with tons of money spent on decor, but, I will say this is some of the best BBQ I have put in my mouth in a very long time. I have been to world renowned BBQ places and will say that this is one of the top 3 I have tasted. I had the sliced brisket and sausage plate with 2 sides and I was not disappointed. It had a great smoke ring on the brisket and even though I requested it lean, it was still moist and tender and had phenomenal flavor. The sausage was also a great bite and was served with a ketchup based sauce and a vinegar based sauce. Both were very flavorful and was scratch made. I got the fried okro and pinto beans as a side. Okra was light and crispy and the beans were flavorful. My son got the ribs and he said they were excellent being very moist and fall off the bone tender. He also got the buttermilk pie. He enjoyed that so much he almost got a second piece. The portions for the price is a respectable amount of food. I would suggest it to anyone in Huntsville and the surrounding area! Lip smacking good food. I will definitely be back. And I found out from another patron that they will also smoke your hams and turkeys for the holidays and offer specials! How great is that. Now I won't have to worry about making Christmas dinner (and maybe Thanksgiving) dinner again!

Stopped in on a recommendation, had a wonderful lunch. Service was amazing, everyone was friendly and happy. We had 2-meat plates and some pie for desert, well priced and delicious.
My best friend suggested BBQ and took me here. I walked in to a happy environment with delicious smelling BBQ. It was soo good , Everyone was so sweet and I could help but smile the whole time being there. My boyfriend is planning on becoming a regular that's for sure!
