This was an awesome establishment. Went for breakfast on my husband's birthday, everyone was extremely nice, our waiter was funny. Food was great. Will definitely go back.

My husband and I stopped in today as one of us wanted breakfast and the other lunch, but then we both ended up with breakfast. I had the pecan pie waffles and it was the best waffle I've ever had. Loved the bottomless big cups of coffee. All around outstanding meal and service!!

If you like good home style comfort food at good prices then Brookside Cafe is for you. First time customer. I will be back. I did the turkey club with fries. I got a huge turkey club on toasted wheat fully dressed. Fries were delicious! The menu has many, many choices. Highly recommend.

What's swinging simians!? If you're looking for the best chicken fried steak in HEB, look no further. I've done the homework and had the rest of everyone else's chicken fried steaks in the area, and by far, this has been the best! The crunch of the breading, texture of the beef, and the viscosity of the gravy were ALL PERFECT. The over easy eggs, hashbrowns, and pancakes that accompanied my chicken fried slice of gold couldn't have been cooked any better. I got in just a bit after the doors oped to fill a Texas sized need for fried breakfast. I was NOT disappointed as that hunger beast was slain. Steve was serving the restaurant himself, which already had a decent amount of people enjoying whatever treasure ordered from the menu. Understandably, it took him a moment to get over to me which was no problem. Worth the VERY SHORT WAIT. The service was just as exquisite as the food. Chatting with regulars of the café, it became apparent I'd stumbled on a gold mine! This was the first of what I can imagine will be many breakfasts in a comfortable place with kind people. Do yourself a favor and stop in and start your day right with an epic meal. Also, if coffee is your thing, I imagine you'll be more than satisfied with the standard portion served. HAPPY CHOMPING!

We love this place for breakfast! The pancakes are really good as well as biscuits and gravy.
I've never received a bad meal here whenever I've eaten here. Service staff is blah but good. Ambiance could be better, but the food makes up for it.
