What's swinging simians!? If you're looking for the best chicken fried steak in HEB, look no further. I've done the homework and had the rest of everyone else's chicken fried steaks in the area, and by far, this has been the best! The crunch of the breading, texture of the beef, and the viscosity of the gravy were ALL PERFECT. The over easy eggs, hashbrowns, and pancakes that accompanied my chicken fried slice of gold couldn't have been cooked any better. I got in just a bit after the doors oped to fill a Texas sized need for fried breakfast. I was NOT disappointed as that hunger beast was slain. Steve was serving the restaurant himself, which already had a decent amount of people enjoying whatever treasure ordered from the menu. Understandably, it took him a moment to get over to me which was no problem. Worth the VERY SHORT WAIT. The service was just as exquisite as the food. Chatting with regulars of the café, it became apparent I'd stumbled on a gold mine! This was the first of what I can imagine will be many breakfasts in a comfortable place with kind people. Do yourself a favor and stop in and start your day right with an epic meal. Also, if coffee is your thing, I imagine you'll be more than satisfied with the standard portion served. HAPPY CHOMPING!

Walking in you wouldn’t expect much from a little cafe, but it quickly changed. The cup of coffee is double the standard size your usual cafe gives,and it doesn’t taste like cheap coffee either! I ordered the pot roast, comes with mashed potatoes, ordered green beans and chicken noodle soup as the sides. My friend ordered the berry berry bo-berry pancakes, with eggs and bacon. The pot roast is wonderfully tender and very flavorful! Green beans gotta be fresh as even though they’ve been cooked to tender, there is still that nice crunch from some fresh green beans. The mashed potatoes are not smooth and I personally love that! The pancakes! Wow! Berries are piled high on top with a nice dollop of whipped cream. Was pleasantly surprised by the fresh berries also cooked in the fluffy pancakes! This was my first time coming here and I will definitely be back! Our waitress Morgan was very nice and attentive! Treat her well!

If you haven't tried Brookside yet, you need to. My daughter lives in Euless so when we visit I want a good place for breakfast. My wife found Brookside so we tried it and love it. I had the Big Big Breakfast, my wife had the Pot Roast. My daughter had the Peanut Butter Cups pancakes. My breakfast came out hot and good, cooked as I had ordered, the Pot Roast was tender and tasty. The Peanut Butter Cups breakfast had eggs and sausage with it. The pancakes had plenty of peanut butter cup pieces in them and looked quite good. My daughter loved them. Our service was great and the food was really good. I would recommend Brookside to anyone that is looking for a good breakfast or nice lunch.

My only complaint is that the pancakes are made from a powder box, but it's not that bad. The food is good and the atmosphere is very nostalgic.
