Soulmans - Grapevine Hwy BBQ

Generally have good experience here. I enjoy when Jimmy is working as I believe he’s one of the managers. Today 5:45 3/8/26 I had an order for my family went in and it took long and they seemed annoyed by the order. The young lady working the cashier doesn’t know how to check out an order and just looked at me to take the order. I didn’t know it was even done. Push it forward make an effort. Learn how to talk with the customer.

Despite the food being good. They routinely leave a lot to be desired with to go and am disappointed with the lack of empathy and class.

Don’t get the fries okra. I watched them drop previously fried okra into the fryer just to heat it up. It was therefore over cooked and very
greasy. Not good at all.

The workers are extremely unfriendly, don’t listen and won’t help. At our second visit we tried to call in a pick up order for lunch at 10:35, but they would not accept the order until 11:00 am. They need to improve their customer service drastically. The food is not bad for chain store barbecue, but the service needs some more time on the smoker.

Sat in line at the drive through for almost 15 mins then gave up and I had to go inside.

I’d like to apologize to the young lady who took my order and to the person who corrected my order that was wrong missing a baked potato. Soulmans was very busy, sold out of brisket, ribs… my wife and I had to adjust our order, had to wait for about 25 minutes on a drive thru order and then go back in to get it corrected. My apologies for being impatient and rude when I came back in…. I want this business to succeed and am not leaving a bad review because they corrected the issue, were extremely busy and don’t want to tear someone down… I hope the staff accepts my apology.

This was the first time I’ve ever been here, and it’s now my favorite bbq place!
I got the 1 meat plate with lean brisket and a baked potato.
The brisket is excellent, the sauce is great, and the baked potato was perfect. There aren’t many places that can do a good baked potato but I’d go there just for that.
The portions were very generous and the staff friendly and attentive.
Definitely a 5 star experience, I highly recommend this Soulman’s Bar-B-Que!

Half-chicken was moist and tasty. Fried cabbage & baked mac and cheese were excellent. Chris, GM, and his staff have outstanding customer service skills and did a great job accommodating our church group of 30.

finally decided to try this place and it was fantastic. I had the 3 meat plate with 2 sides and toast and everything was delicious. My favourites were definitely the sliced brisket and the Mac and cheese. The staff were also lovely and made my first visit a great experience. I will definitely be returning to try some of the other items.

Well, let me start off by saying I do not stay on that side of town. I live in the Rockwall Texas area. I was visiting my best friend and we decided we wanted to have a baked potato for dinner. When we walked into the restaurant, the lady that was chopping up the meat had on gloves. The lady who was putting the fixings on the potato did not have on gloves. She washed her hands one time but never wore gloves. To fix my food. I think this is very unsanitary and when I sat down to eat the food was not okay. My friend did not like her food as well. When I went to go pay for my food the young lady that was at the cash register, was distracted by something that was in the building. And it took her a minute to take my payment and to give me my food. She apologized but I did not like the atmosphere. This place I'm not for sure what's going on with it but I will not be back to eat at this particular soulman's bbq.

Soulman’s provided us with turkey and ham for Thanksgiving, and both were superb! Try them out, it’s our favorite BBQ in town.
