It's no better than Dickey's but cost a little more. They are strict on their portions. The guy was being watched with every cut of meat he made and every drop of sauce he poured. The sides are small. My dad said the tea wasn't any good. I gave it a 3 because the brisket was decent enough. I would not recommend unless you can't drive further.

I had the pulled pork plate with the broccoli rice and beans sides. Very generous portions for the price, food was great. Will be going back to eat here for sure.

Finally ate here today since moving here 2 years ago and driving by many times. I had the pulled pork sandwich and mac and cheese. The pork was tender and tasty. The Mac and cheese needed salt (for my taste) and could have been thicker, but was pretty good. Husband had pulled pork plate with beans and broccoli cheese. He also liked the pork, said it was very good and tender with a very generous portion. Both the beans and broccoli cheese were great. The prices are very reasonable. We will be coming by here regularly.

I’ve tried just about every BBQ joint in Texas. I’m not claiming I know it all, but I have experience with Texas BBQ.
Where this place succeeds is the service and atmosphere. Very clean restaurant, the employees are all kind. The food is affordable.
But unfortunately that’s about the end of my good review. We tried the brisket, ribs, and ham. It looked like the meats had been sitting in the warmer all day, so everything was dry. For my taste, I like a lot of bark on my ribs/brisket. There wasn’t any noticeable seasoning, the flavor just wasn’t there.
Mac-n-cheese was watery and had no flavor. Potato salad was pretty decent. Nothing bad to say about the okra.
Unfortunately Texas is one of the best places in the world for BBQ, so it’s hard to compete when there’s so many other 5 star places. I hope this joint can improve.

The Brisket was not cooked long enough, could use 2 to 3 hrs more. It is like the brisket just stalled out. Need to push it thru the stall. Sides were great

My experience here was very good. The food was good and if I had any issues, the owner was more than willing to come out to correct and rectify it. I do recommend this. It is people friendly atmosphere is good private setting and family setting so if you’re looking for a barbecue and you’re not from here, I do recommend this place

A True Texas BBQ Experience!
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. Now, the food: the brisket is the star of the show. Perfectly smoked, tender, and packed with rich, smoky flavor, it practically melts in your mouth. The seasoning is just right – enough to enhance the flavor without overpowering it. Every bite had that signature BBQ balance of smoky, savory, and slightly sweet.
Overall, Texas Star BBQ delivers not only on taste but also on service and cleanliness. Whether you’re a BBQ lover or just craving some comfort food done right, this place is worth every visit.

I'd give this BBQ place a 10-star review if I could! This restaurant is a gem 🔥, consistently serving up delicious food 🍴 and top-notch service 👌. I wish there was a branch in Houston, but I always make it a point to visit when I'm in Fort Worth 📍. The food is excellent, with juicy and smoked meat that's full of rich flavor 🍖.
The brisket was cooked to perfection, and the mac and cheese, accompanied by a deliciously yummy broccoli side, made for a truly satisfying meal.

I don't even want to give it 1 star. I don't know where all these 5 stars come from. Maybe from people who don't have taste buds. My husband picked this place yesterday and I have spent all morning on the toilet. The ribs were small dry and taste like sugar. The brisket didn't have any taste and was small..no smoke flavor whatsoever. The broccoli and cheese..wth..all stems and was uncooked..what the do with the rest of the broccoli 😳 Don't waste your money please and I think the health department needs to visit this place. Now I'm going to have a hospital bill along with that disgusting food. My husband got chicken and turkey..all dry and no seasoning. They should be ashamed of themselves and so should the people leaving 5 stars. 😡😡😡 A food establishment shouldn't make people sick
