This restaurant closed a few days ago. The sign is down and the door was locked. There are lots of other restaurants nearby

I am sad to see this place closing soon on 12/15/23. This is def one of my fave restaurants on the island. Love their pasta here! My absolute faves are their spicy ground pork with eggplant pasta and bacon and mushroom pasta with tomato sauce. This place is very nostalgic to me because I have been a fan and loyal customer since they was on Kapiolani Blvd. I will miss this place! I am glad to hear that they will still sell their salad dressings in the grocery stores though!

Short attention span review: Was located on Kapiolani Blvd for many years but finally nestled in the current Kaimuki location. Has been serving the east Honolulu residents with delicious Italian cuisine with a Japanese influence. They are noted for their raw potato salad which I do not care for. Located in the metered municipal parking lot on the makai side. Pizzas, pasta, salads primarily. The bad news: they are closing mid December of 2023. Give them a try or revisit an institution in the Kaimuki district.

I heard this place is closing in December for good, so I'm glad I was able to try this place. The Spicy Pork Mushroom Pasta was really good and I preferred that over the pasta I order (shrimp&mushroom). We also tried the potato salad, it's raw and reminded me of daikon. Definitely come and eat at this place 1 last time.

We have loved Pietros and dined here thru the years. Always loved the pasta with cream sauce. It's the best! It will be missed!

Been going to Pietro for many years. The foods are alway constantly good. My favorite are the Asian chicken salad with spaghetti and pasta with cream sauce. I like the cream sauce that's not so thick.

This review is a bit long overdue, I am sad to report that they will be closing this location in December, so try to come and experience the cuisine that had been around for a long time. We were lucky to be seated for 3 with no reservation. The restaurant was jam packed with other customers trying to eat the pasta they grew up on. My eating group of three took advantage of the happy hour deals from 5-6. The Neapolitan Pasta was a good 4/5 Stars. The Bell Peppers are still a little crispy, the noodles Al Dente, and the textures of sausage and bacon complement the tomato base sauce. One of the best variations of this Japanese style pasta dish on island. The Pepperoni Pizza 5/5,- simple yet well made, crispy, and the right amount of cheese and Pepperoni. Also, amazing price of $6 during Happy Hour is a steal. They will be starting to be very busy as they near closing so, please try to make a reservation and enjoy the place that brought Pasta, Pizza, and Happiness for many years!

Came here for lunch with my friend. We ordered two pasta and a appetizer. All were great! We loved the pasta. It was cooked perfectly Al dente just how I like it. We ordered the bacon and mushroom pasta (special for Friday), eggplant and spicy ground beef and the calamari. Would recommend to try all 3. It satisfied my pasta craving. Both pasta was so delicious with the side of toast to dip into your pasta sauce. Calamari was crispy as well. Will try to come again before they close in December. :(

I follow this restaurant every time they move because foods are really good! You can eat Japanese style pasta only here. You can chose sauce from Shoyu, Girlick, Cream and also mix it Raw potato salad is super good!! You must try it Servers are friendly.

The salmon pasta wasn't very good. The beer and appetisers were good though. Not over cooked. Cheese still stringy. Service was not great. Bare minimum effort. There were a lot of people so it was noisy. They don't have a good sound dampening in the space. Everything is amplified. Heads up: They close in December.

What a cute restaurant serving Japanese style pasta! I've always loved this kind of cuisine and glad a friend of mine brought us here! I'm kinda sad to hear that they will shut down in a few months because they couldn't recover from COVID :-'( I hope they change their mind and keep it open because I wanna keep coming back to try different dishes! I tried their Gorgonzola pasta. Wow it's one of the best I've had. I also love how their pasta was all cooked to Al dente with a firm bite. My salmon ikura wasabi cream pasta didn't disappoint. It's got good wasabi flavor and ikura that popped in my mouth. I wish the salmon was undercooked a little bit though. Great service. Server was friendly and helpful. We would be back soon!!!

A very nice homey Japanese - Italian style restaurant. Ordered the special Squid Ink pasta. It was fun seeing my friendʻs black smile! Itʻs very tasty tomato cream base that is not fishy from the black ink. Wish had more ika rings and tomatos in there. Also ordered the shrimp and mushroom pasta in cream sauce. That was more pleasing to the eye than the black ink sauced pasta.

More a 3.5 than a 3. Service here is excellent and it is a cozy, warm, welcoming environment. Happy hour is super fun bc pepperoni pizza is less than $10 and you can get the raw potato salad for $5. Creme brulee is too sweet for me but still a fun choice. If you've never had raw potato salad, try it! It's a huge portion!!! The pizzas here are a thin crispy pizza similar to something made by someone's mom and the pasta is just okay. And of course, the salad dressings are the best!!! I always have some at my house. Parking's easy too!
