All you can eat sushi, hibachi and tempura was good. The good thing about their sushi roll orders is that the rolls are not big allowing you to finish a roll and thus taste a variety of type of rolls. The wait staff is attentive. The hibachi cooking, tempura and soups were good. The atmosphere is mild noise

The food was okay but not particularly memorable. Some of the dishes felt a bit bland and could have used more flavor. The presentation was fine, but nothing really stood out. Service timing was also a little slow, and some items took longer than expected to arrive.

It wasn’t a bad experience by any means, but it didn’t quite live up to what I was hoping for. With a bit more seasoning and faster service, it could definitely be much better.

The only reason that I didn’t give two stars, is because half the food that was ordered came out fast. The other half never arrived.

Ever since we went to Japan House the first time, we have gone 3 more times in 4 weeks. The price is SO good for what you can order. The sashimi is so fresh and the orders come out very quick. I ordered the Japanese short ribs (kalbi) and seared salmon belly more times than I can count. I didn't have to wait but I did show up around 4:30-5:30 each time. I live over an hour away but if I didn't, I could see myself here every weekend.

Pretty solid spot overall, especially if you are in the mood for a lot of sushi without totally sacrificing quality. It is not perfect, but if you know what to order and what to skip you will leave pretty happy.

First off if you are planning on drinking definitely get the sake bomb special instead of ordering sake and a beer separately. it ends up being like 40 percent cheaper that way and you are getting the same thing in the end.

Food wise this place does a solid job for an AYCE spot. The fish quality is actually really good which is usually the biggest gamble with all you can eat sushi. The cuts were fresh and didn’t taste fishy at all and the rolls came out consistent every round. That alone makes it worth coming back. The beef ribs were the one letdown for me. They were a little too fatty and heavy so after a couple bites I was kind of over them. Not terrible just not something I would keep reordering when there are better options on the menu.

Service is where things could improve. It was not bad but it definitely was not very attentive. There were a few times we were waiting longer than we should have to order another round or get someone’s attention. You are not ignored but you do feel like you have to work a bit for it which is not ideal when you are trying to enjoy yourself.

One cool and unexpected touch was seeing the little robots rolling food out to certain tables. It does not replace the service issues but it was still fun to watch and kind of added to the experience in a weird way.

Overall Japan House AYCE is a good option if you are craving sushi and want decent quality without breaking the bank. Stick to the fish skip the beef ribs order the sake bomb and you will have a much better time.

Omg so good. The owner is so kind and is always greeting and speaking to guests and he truly seems passionate about his work. The price has stayed the same for a couple years which is what keeps me coming back, because the food is just amazing and I would be so sad if it became unaffordable. Haha I would die for their short ribs and dumplings 😍

I go here once in a while during lunch because it's close to work so Ive been here a few times a year over the past 2-3 yrs.

The pictures attached to this review were from 2023.

Update Review 2026: Might have been an off day but the quality seems to have gone down a bit. Still a good value to stuff your face with cheap sushi.

Original Review 2023: The quality of this AYCE is actually pretty good for being an AYCE. It's not buffet style, so food isn't sitting around at a counter, but that does mean you have to order with the server. Weekends are dinner prices and you get access to the dinner menu.

Food wise, everything we had was great. Good quality was high, tastes good, portions weren't large but not skimping. You can always order more anyway. The nigiri did have a larger portion of rice to fish ratio but I'm not going to knock stars off for that especially since Dinner prices gives you access to sashimi. The fish wasnt fishy smelling, was actually soft, and did good taste. We tried their mackerel, tuna, salmon, white tuna, yellowtail, albacore, snapper, lots to choose from. We had some random rolls that are manageable half roll size and not full giant rolls like you get elsewhere. This allows you to try more rolls without getting stuffed trying to finish a giant roll that you might not like. Had some hot appetizers like the shumai, calamari, and Japanese short ribs, though the short ribs were a bit fattier but tasted good. Everything was pretty good and can't say I had a bad dish.

Service will always depend on the person you get but for our visit, our server was on point, came often and was attentive without being too much. We didn't feel like we sitting around too long and waiting to order more. Hope future visits give the same level of service. I'm not expecting much, just be available to submit orders :)

Overall, definitely a higher tier AYCE.

Very very happy with my visit here (first-time). We came during dinner hours and there was no wait to be seated; even with how packed it looked. The food came out quick and was delicious. Overall, the staff was great. Our server, Maya, was great. I highly recommend the Lychee Blast.

Just ate lunch here...Was a little skeptical on an all you can eat sushi place, but my friend who is a foodie said it is great bang for the buck. It was really good. Service was a little slow due to a private party of 100 next to us, but everything was very good. I will bring my family back.

One of the best and authentic sushi places in DFW! The food was great and their sushi selection is superb!!! They have sashimi options for dinner, which I barely see in any AYCE restaurant.

Also, let’s talk about the service…omg! Blown away! We didn’t have to wait for more than 5 min for our food. Everyone that was working was full on helping one another bring the food out or bust the tables. Bryan took care of us and he made sure that we got everything that we needed! Amazing.

The portion was great so it’s not too overwhelming. But yeah, everything was great especially for the price. 🩷
