My wife and I visited Po Melvin's a few weeks ago. And for the most part or was a nice visit. Although my only real complaint was how they appeared to be short staffed. As it took a long time to get our food order placed. Otherwise it was a pleasant experience

Took my girl there and she was blown away on how good the food was the chicken and dumplings was outstanding. Great place to relax and watch a good football game
Daniel Gormley was a good friend to many. He was cherished in the online gaming community and rather than bring others down. I want to let everyone know DannyTom was a good man and a good friend.
Stuffed Bell Peppers: delicious.
Green beans: yummy.
Red Beans& Rice: classic.
Pork Chops: super thin and tasty.
Cajun Rice: ok.
Ice Tea: weak.
Service: not bad, never could tell which of the five (or was it six?) folks service the whole time was the actual waiter for the table.

I'm one of those people that tries to give people the benefit of doubt and not look to deeply into the reviews. Guess what? I should have listened and known better. As soon as we walked in and saw it was predominantly elderly patrons.....I told my husband we should leave. That usually means the food is bland. But NO, we stayed figuring it wouldn't be that bad. NEVER AGAIN!!!!! THIS IS NOT A CAJUN PLACE WHAT SO EVER!!!!! Please do not waste your time and money. You've been warned! This place caters to a certain demographic and they seem to not be bothered by it. Now it's time for me to take some CITRATE MAGNESIUM and get this food out of my system.

I recently discovered this restaurant on DoorDash and was thoroughly impressed. The menu offers authentic Louisiana cuisine, from perfectly prepared beignets to flavorful roast beef, with every dish exceeding expectations. The quality is consistent, the flavors are genuine, and the prices are refreshingly reasonable. For those in the DFW area seeking a true taste of Louisiana, this establishment comes highly recommended—especially for anyone wanting to enjoy Cajun flavors without the effort of cooking at home.

Haven't been in a while. It's definitely lost some quality but what else is new? So many restaurants have been forced into compromising their quality due to inflation/rising prices for everyone all over. Their prices are still pretty decent so that tells me they don't want to up their prices too much to run off customers so in my mind that means lower quality on some items. They gotta balance it somehow. I get it. The Boudin in a Blanket was an interesting concoction. I think it's worth your try. Chicken fried chicken was good. The fried fish was decent. Interestingly enough definitely more flavorful than pappadeaux cause their catfish is bland every time I get it. Have to douse it in hot sauce and tartar but it was pretty good here before adding all that. Black eyed peas were delish. Red beans and rice were ok. My main complaints were the #1 French fries. Oddly cooked. Outside texture was strange , almost seemed like they weren't fresh even though they were hot but the inside was undercooked on some. #2 The jalapeño cornbread was a total let down. Didn't seem fresh. Wasn't soft, wasn't sweet at all! I asked for honey to kind of sweeten it some, that oddly made it worse. #3 The okra should've been fried longer.

Never been here before. Some coworkers were like they aren’t good. I’m like let me try for myself. I order a small thing of gumbo it was 8.99 and the bowl was 10.99 I’m like ok. Nasty! It was shrimp gumbo no flavor. It had the seafood taste like they just got the shrimp out of the ocean. I called and told them, she told me it was nothing for her to do about it.
