I can’t understand how this place is even in business. It was the most unseasoned tacos I have ever had in my life. You would be better off making your own food at home. On top of the horrible, he got my order wrong twice! Don’t waste your money

I don’t know how this place has so many high reviews… the food was unseasoned and unappetizing. I called the restaurant to make slight accommodations like adding cheese to my meal which were not added. Had to throw everything in the trash. Would not recommend.

Love this little restaurant! The best catfish I've ever had. Family owned business, too! The chef is the owner himself! A great place to grab some lunch or dinner!

Great seafood! The raw oysters were big and delicious. The shrimp chalupa and shrimp cocktail were outstanding. I think the seafood dishes are better than the Mexican entrees.

I had the shrimp and catfish and a side of chips and salsa. The seafood and fries were seasoned perfectly and delicious. The chips and salsa were bland and not very good. I will return for the seafood.

FINALLY tried Rico's this afternoon after wanting to visit since when it was Pappy's. Being from the deep south, I miss the fried catfish places and especially the all you can eat buffets featuring it. Although Rico's is not one of those places it does have hand breaded (with cornmeal) perfectly cooked catfish. I also got fried oysters and they were delicious (and hand breaded) also. It came with hush puppies (homemade) and one side which I gave to my husband (jalapeno pinto beans). The restaurant is spotless and the air is ice cold which was appreciated on this 100 degree day. There was a tv running re-runs of The Lone Ranger which we loved. They don't have a liquor license so no cold beer to go with the fried fish fyi.
Now for the "could improve" part: Our fried mushrooms were served with ranch dressing and not horseradish sauce and they were not hand made. For almost $8 I won't be ordering those again as they have fried green tomatoes on the menu. Our very young female server did not speak any English but thank God my husband is hispanic. She was not attentive and did not check on us at all but Albert (the owner) did. She was so busy eating and looking at her phone that she did not notice we wanted our check. Perhaps it was her first service industry job? As a seasoned hospitality industry person (25+ years) she needs training and someone to set an example for her.
Hands down Rico's is better than Catfish House and I wish they were in South Irving instead of the Kickin Crab which has yet to open.
Please go support this local small family owned business as the place was empty.

This is mine and my husband’s 4th time ordering from here and every single time we have ordered something different and each dish is delicious but tonight i ordered the fried Calamari and Fried oysters, truth be told it’s so delicious, hot and fresh…it’s honestly hard to find fresh seafood around Irving but Rico’s sure won’t disappoint and the price is also great. So from now on every time I crave fresh, hot and delicious seafood, Rico’s will be our go to spot!

Nice owners, great morning coffee. Food was great, he even offered to serve lunch if I didn’t want breakfast.
