We've been loyal customers of Simply South for a while now — our last 4–5 visits were genuinely good, and we recommended the place to many friends. But this recent visit was a complete letdown.
We ordered Tandoori Roti, Butter Naan, and a curry. Shockingly, the rotis were served within 30 seconds — and it was obvious why: they were cold, not fresh, and clearly prepared hours ago. Dry, chewy, and completely unappetizing. To make it worse, we had to wait another 20 minutes just for the curry to arrive, so we were stuck with cold bread and no main dish.
Honestly, we wouldn't expect this kind of quality or service even from a 1-star roadside place. For a restaurant that once impressed us, this experience was beyond disappointing.
Sadly, it feels like the quality and standards here are declining day by day.

To start off, I would like to give credit to the staff. Food came out promptly and service was great. The corn chili appetizer, paneer butter masala, parotta and garlic naan were the best items we got. If you are used to eating chicken or mutton biriyani, you wont get that satisfaction with the veg biriyani. I did get the paneer tikka and Kaju biriyani, of those two, the paneer Tikka was the best. Serving sizes are pretty big, 1 order of biriyani can easily feed 3 people.
Visited Simply South restaurant for a team lunch on weekday. Since it's a weekday we got table for 10 with same day reservation and no wait time. Ordering process was seamless and food was served without any delay. Service = Was average is would say as they didn't bother to serve water for the group. Just placed a cups and glass bottle in the middle of the table. People who visited this place can understand how difficult to reach Middle of the table given the size of the table allocated for large groups. I noticed some tables were serviced bottled waters while tap water served to us in glass jar. Its a let down. Food is over hyped. Its a regular south Indian food. Ordered masala dosa but surprised how a restaurant with high rating could serve dosa with smashed potato with turmeric filling with no flavor. I expected much better pptato filling for the restaurant rating. Sambar vada was let down. Served in small tawa like copper coated large size bowl. Not all all appetizing. Vada was dropped in Sambar just after ordering. Its not soaked in Sambar. Better buy vada separately and Sambar separately .
Chutney rack 2 tier is a joke. Hard to move around as it could topple any time and its not user friendly.
Good side . Food is not spicy for a south Indian taste bud and I appreciate the mild spice as opposed to spicy mouth burning food served in other restaurants.
Overall rating I would say 3 and can improve on their service . Overly hyped though.

No Basic restaurant etiquette as most of the servers were Students. Restaurant management needs to train them well.
