Ordered burger, took a very long time to get the food. When it arrived the server announced they ran out of the brioche buns so sorry for the small buns. The buns were simple buns from the grocery store. The burger patty was larger than the buns and the bun was pure mush and soggy. Should have been notified when I ordered there would not be a brioche bun. I would have changed my order. I was not compensated on the price at all over 18 dollars for a burger that was soggy mush. The taste wasnt that great either. I dont think the brioche bun would have made a ton of difference but it would have definitely helped. waited a very long time to receive our check, it was not that busy inside.

My wife and I just happened to pop in here during our 5 day stay in Jefferson and - we'll be honest: we judged a book by it's cover. It's a small little humble restaurant - sort of like a diner at first glance - but it really is a hidden gem!
I had the salad which was large and delicious but my wife - who has never tried gumbo or etouffee before got a cup of both to try them out....and they set the bar HIGH!! :D They were absolutely amazing and my wife loved them both, she finished every bit! They were flavorful and hearty; both were lovely!
And our waitress was highly attentive, food was out quick and served the appropriate temperature.
All of it was great - if we ever come through Jefferson again, we've definitely adding this to our list to visit once more!

I had the 1/2 chicken fried steak and my husband had Southern Comfort (blackened catfish on a bed of rice and etouffee). The cfs was delicious, thick with crispy breading. The mashed potatoes were so flavorful, I'm taking what's left of them home - they are so fresh with creamy little chunks of potato. My husband cleaned off the plate of catfish and etouffee - it was delicious also. Service was top notch and the food came out very quickly.We will be back!
Trip to Caddo Lake… didn’t find much to eat for dinner… if you can fond a place they are most likely closed. So off to Jefferson, TX we went… what an unexpected jewel! Don’t get Cajun much so Taste of Caddo was our choice. Loved the place… family owned feel… wonderful menu. Our food was outstanding! Since we were celebrating my 75th BD, we ordered homemade warm fudge brownie and apple pie w/ vanilla ice cream… OMG! Delicious… loved it and we will be back!

While the food was fairly good, the prices for a glass of tea is absolutely ridiculous $4 per glass? O my goodness! Tea is not expensive nor does it require much effort whatsoever! If I could charge and actually get $4 for a 12 l-14 ounce glass of tea I’d open tea shops nationwide today. Be fair, charge a reasonable amount, $2 would be very fair. I’ve been going to this place for many years. Regretful, I’ll not be back. Nor will my families. Pray things get under control.
