This place is the definition of don’t judge a book by its cover the food is amazing the catfish was some of the best Ive had and the pizza is as good as it gets. This place in my opinion is the best restaurant in karnes/kenedy

This family owned place is a gem! The freshest hand battered cat fish and shrimp, and the juiciest burgers! The Texas meatlovers pizza ( with Brisket) will make your taste buds dance. Don’t forget the homemade desserts! Our favorite is the banana pudding cake. The service is always outstanding, as well. Shout out to Dustin, who always has a smile and is very attentive. They had been closed for a while, and since reopening, no longer have the buffet. But, now they are back at it, so stop in for lunch, or Friday night Fish Fry. Let’s keep this treasure in business.

A hole in the wall from the street, but packed for a reason. Genuinely some of the best food I've had in the entirety of Texas. That shrimp poboy (as is - don't change a thing! And some Louisiana hot sauce? ??? Family owned and run, and significantly kinder than most professional servers. This is a must stop if you're in the area.

Initially, I had given TK’s a positive rating; however, as years have passed, the food quality has deteriorated. The food served does have fairly good flavor (usually), however, this is often overridden by the greasiness and heaviness of the food. This ranges from the plates to the pizza. Whenever I eat here, I often leave with a weird feeling in my stomach.
The past few times I have eaten here, my food has also tasted old or has been room temperature. The food also wasn’t consistent across the table; the french fries one person received were old, greasy, and soggy crinkle fries; the next person had fresher fries that were straight cut. Additionally, if you’d like to eat here, please make sure you’re not very hungry before choosing this establishment, as the wait times are long. Waiting for your food can take anywhere from 25 minutes to an hour. Appetizers take anywhere from 15 minutes to 30 minutes. This is consistent as well, and happens both during rushes and during slower periods.
The environment isn’t appealing at all, though that’s fairly typical here in Karnes County. However, the restaurant is almost always dirty with crumbs all over the chairs and tables, straw wrappers on the floors, and flies everywhere. The general appearance is dated as well, and as another reviewer stated, the restaurant looks as if it’s falling apart (bit of a hyperbole here, and it’s mainly the exterior; however, that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be mentioned).
Lastly, the service. The service is mediocre at best. There’s 2 servers, with one being a bit friendlier than the other, however I don’t blame the other server; it’s a stressful job, and not everyone is very social. Also, it would be nice to dine in and not have to hear about how wokeness is ruining media. I get this is a small town, but do better, most people dine in just to eat and head home, not to hear talking points parroted from right wing talk-show hosts.
Overall, this place hasn’t aged well. If you live here, you probably know the other available dine in options aren’t much better so just choose whatever you feel like eating. If you’re passing through, maybe wait to hit a bigger town like Beeville or Floresville, as you’ll get much better food there.

I love this place. I haven't had a bad item yet..... 07-12-24 I went back and I was completely angered when I got home with my food and the hush puppies I got were completely inedible. Rock hard and over cooked. They basically served me trash because I couldn't eat it. I thought I would never have a problem here.

First time at TK's and will not be the last. Waiter was friendly and attentive, food was hot, plentiful and delicious. I had the catfish & shrimp plate. The french fries were perfectly seasoned with salt and they were crispy on the outside and fluffy potato on the inside. The plate came with i believe 4 good size pieces of perfectly fried catfish and 4 or 6 pieces of fried shrimp and 3 golden hush puppies. Next time I'm certainly going to try the boudin balls. I recommend this place. My boyfriend has lived in Kenedy most of his life and until I moved here recently he had never tried it. I was happy to find a restaurant that is local that is not mexican cuisine (don't get me wrong, i love Mexican food) but having a place to go sit down at and enjoy something different is a real plus to this gal.
