This place has hands down always been my favorite hibachi place. Even throughout the years they stay consistent with their food!!! My go to is always the chicken hibachi with the hibachi fried rice, comes with soup & salad & their homemade sauces. So yum. I’ve never had a long wait here either which is always a plus.

We went here for my wife’s birthday, and it did not disappoint! I had read some mixed reviews beforehand, but our experience was fantastic from start to finish.

The hostesses were prompt and clear in letting us know that our whole party needed to be present before seating. Once we were seated, our waiter greeted us with great enthusiasm and quickly took our orders. The hibachi chef was wonderful, friendly, engaging, and kind to everyone at the table.

Our 4-year-old was a little startled by the fire segments (every kid reacts differently), but overall, it was a fun experience for the family. The food was tasty; I ordered the filet mignon and scallops, and both were cooked well. My brother-in-law ordered a poke bowl that had great presentation too.To cap it off the waiter gave birthday ice cream and sung happy birthday with a drum!

Overall, it’s a great place to enjoy a meal with great value, family, especially for special occasions.

The food was yummy and the chef was really great, but our server brought us drinks and the soup that the meal came with and then our appetizer plate, but besides that she was on her phone in her seat. When the time came to pay, we tipped about $4 because it was all we could at the time. She then proceeded to follow me into the bathroom and harass me for more tip money! She was yelling saying that she can’t make a livable wage off of this amount, and I sympathized with her because I completely get it, but following a customer into the bathroom is not the move. Safe to say we will not be back!

Disappointed and Frustrated – Poor Customer Service

I placed a large order totaling nearly $90 to feed four people, but when I got home, I discovered that the fried rice was missing from every plate. I picked up the food near closing and made the mistake of not checking the bags before leaving. When I called back, the manager/owner refused to offer a refund and told me I could come back another day just to pick up the rice.

That offer completely missed the point. This wasn’t just a side item—it was part of the full meal, and the experience was ruined. We were left with incomplete meals for a company gathering.

Worse, when my daughter tried to express our frustration, the manager raised her voice at her instead of owning the mistake. That’s not how any paying customer—especially one spending nearly $90—should be treated.

It’s incredibly disappointing to be met with attitude and no accountability. I won’t be returning, and I don’t recommend this place to anyone who expects decent customer service or to get what they paid for.

I worked here as a host, and while I had high hopes going in, my experience was disappointing. I made a couple of small, honest mistakes (which is normal for someone new and still learning), but instead of receiving support or guidance, I was gossiped about by staff and publicly humiliated. One server in particular made it her mission to tear me down, spreading negativity to the entire team. I was 17, trying my best — instead of understanding, I was met with rudeness, immaturity, and zero professionalism.

There is a clear lack of respect among certain staff members, and a toxic culture where mistakes are weaponized rather than used as learning moments. I also witnessed inappropriate workplace behavior, including unprofessional conversations and dishonesty among employees. Not a healthy or supportive place to grow in hospitality.

To future workers: If you’re young or just starting out, be prepared to deal with a work environment that doesn’t always foster learning or respect.

I've been coming to Atami for over six years now, and it continues to be one of my favorite spots. The service has always been consistently great, and I truly appreciate how well they take care of their guests. I'm especially a fan of their Lycheetini martini--so refreshing and delicious! Their appetizers are always on point (Crab Puffs a fave), and while I didn't snap a photo of it, the roll I had this time was just as tasty as ever. They also offer hibachi, which is a fun option if you're in the mood for a more interactive dining experience and with friends + fam. All around, a solid go-to for great food and good vibes. They are also on DoorDash!

The food is good but Horrible service. There was no one waiting and only 2 tables sitting down( 1 person by themselves and a table of 4) when we walked in. They should of been glad to get some business. They make you feel like it’s a problem when you walk in. The point of a restaurant is to have people come in to eat. Then they have extremely rude staff especially the older lady who seats people. Go to Shogun their staff is very friendly. Not worth the hassle.
