We truly wanted to love this place, but it is a great concept that doesn't have the execution yet it seems. We visited for my birthday and the man at the counter was definitely gruff and not the most attentive. We told him it was our first time here, and were met with silence. We then tried to order a beer listed on the board behind him and were told the only items available were in the sticky binder on the counter. The food was phenomenal, especially the burgers, but we didnt quite understand the "brewery" part. There is no way to dry your hands in the dimly lit bathroom, and the secondary bathroom has a sign that says "Door doesn't lock, please knock first"... The board game library is spectacular as well as the tables! Unfortunately we came at opening and the table was still sticky with crumbs everywhere. Some TLC and customer service would really turn this place around...The devil is in the details for sure. Here's hoping with some time it'll turn around. Love the concept and wish all the best for this small business!

Staff wasn't friendly. Beer was not that great. Their Quadrupel had hints of armpit. The Wahoo Punch IPA was too sweet and had no hop presence. Only reason they aren't a 1/5 is because of their incredible ambience full of board games, D&D, and comic book paraphernalia.

Battlehops is basically my favorite place ever. It's where I choose to go on my birthday and Mother's day and anytime I get to choose where to go. And the coffee is the best ever.

Very impressive selection of games to play in the library, and especially generous price for an unlimited game pass of $5 or a beer. There were also some non-alcholic options as well. Also a nice little selection of games for sell up front.Very chill atmosphere with great tables to play the games. Food was good, and despite the smaller selection the beer was good too. Will happily go back.

I was a little bit out of place at first because I went alone. Had one of the burgers and it was great! Chatted with the owner a bit and you can tell he loves this place. Be back soon! Thanks for the chat J.D!

Pros. Impressive game selection. Tables were great. Cons. Needs to be cleaned up. Needs more selection on drinks. Beer wasn't cold enough. We were the first there on a Thursday at 5p and they had to wash glasses for us to drink. I wanted to really like the place. Doubtful I’ll be back.

I have to come back here with a group for game night! I met a friend for a couple of beers before we left. I tried the Ridgeback... pretty good! But I couldn't stop looking at all of the games. Definitely a great place to come in to play some game boards. Also, it didn't seem this place would be as crowded as other breweries would. Until next time!

Interesting concept but not well executed. The one man show needs more service and selection.

Wasn't very impressed. The tables were really neat and the amount of board games was very impressive but.that was it. Their beer ended consisted of about 3 beers, one of which was Yuengling, and one or two sours. The gentleman working the counter wasn't very polite. My wife said the bathrooms didn't have paper towels. So we just had the one beer and left. We did not try the food, but they do have a good size food menu. Glad we visited and got the sticker, but won't be going back.

If you like games this is your place! The tables were absolutely full of friends and families having fun. I have read reviews that the food is good. If you want craft beer buy a Mic-Ultra instead. If the head brewer was using a plastic home brew kit it would still be the worst beverages ever called beer! The "Brewroom" looked almost as messy as the "Kitchen" NOTE TO OWNER....hide these spaces better!

Cool idea! Drinks and games. Spent a couple hours playing games. The lot was small but we were able to get both 40' rigs and trailers in by the building. Did drive by it because the signage was hard to spot.

Fun place for any board game lover! Great spot to bring friends, have a few beers and enjoy a huge library of games for players of all skill levels.

This place is awesome!!! You'll be surprised how many games they actually have. This is a hidden gem. They brew their own beer and make their own soda. Had their pretzel and it was delicious just needed a little cheese to dip. ? Will definitely be coming back!

3 stars only for the cool selection of games. We walked in and weren't greeted which was fine because there was only one guy working but when we went to the counter to order it seemed like we were bothering him. The sour beer was awful. It tasted like beer and vinegar. The food is mediocre. I usually give everyone a second chance but I didn't find anything that would make me want to return.

This place is legitimate! Right in old Katy off Old hwy 90. This place has an immense board game library. Plenty of tables and space you can bring your friends for some good brews, food, and games! I will definitely be back as this gem has been hiding. Not only that it is holiday season around the corner and Battle Hops has a board game store and can order the hard to find items that you are looking for. Support your small local business and come give visit these guys over at battle hops. If you love table top games they will not disappoint.
