I've been waiting for a few months to try this location because they have the Peking Duck but the Bellaire location does not. Luckily, I found a promotion on their Instagram page that if you spend $50 you can get a half duck for $5 or spend $100 and get whole duck for $5. We had 7 people with us so it was easy to get to the $100 mark. The first dish to come out was the Peking duck and it was delicious, very Crispy. Only issue I had was the wrappers that come with it came out 15 minutes later and that the skin was not cut as thin so there is still a large amount of fat on the skin. I've had it where the skin is so thin that it can dip it in sugar and it will dissolve in your mouth!Other plates were the fish fragrance eggplant but with no meat, Chung du fried green beans, salted egg tofu, salt and pepper shrimp, crispy fried Sichuan chicken, beef flat fried noodles, shrimp Singapore noodles, and the whole special "grilled" fish. The whole "grilled" fish was my least favorite dish, and it was actually FRIED, not grilled. It was EXTREMELY spicy. I love spicy but this was too much. Stick to the spicy boiled fish with tofu or dry fried fish dishes (haven't had them here but at other Sichuan restaurants). The servers were all nice but they were not attentive at all... they looked like they were running around and I had to stop them every time for any little thing like napkins, water refills, utensils. Seeing some of the other reviews. This is not an isolated event... they seem to be chronically under staffed.

We have been here a handful of times now and we must say that its become one of our favorite Chinese restaurants. The food has been consistently delicious. Always comes out hot and fresh. Fair warning to call ahead for duck- they run out fairly early in the evening. Service has been hit or miss. The staff has always been very nice, but they always seem to be short staffed. They work hard and are always busy, so sometimes you have to put in effort to get attention. We recently had a large group gathering of 20+ people and called 20 minutes ahead... they did an excellent job accommodating us. Everyone in our group said food was delicious (most of us are Chinese- if that gives any credibility)Our favorite dish is the salted egg tofu- it has such a unique taste- can't find it anywhere else around here.

Ordered the beef schezuan noodle soup and the house special lamb tofu.Food was really good.Prices were reasonable for quantity served and flavor.Service is a little slow but if you catch their eyes they come quickly. Will be returning to try all the interesting food we didn't get to eat this time

Ordered spicy dry pot beef and tender tofu fish fillet. Both dishes are very authentic Szechuan dishes and very tasty. Especially liked the lotus root, sea weed knots and taishan cauliflower in the spicy dry pot. Will definitely go back again to try other dishes.

Peking duck is your here. However we waited for an extremely long time before it came. After we had finished eating all the other dishes. Lemon prawns was delicious. The Szechuan fish was good too as it’s not swimming in too much chili oil like in many other restaurants. The doubled boiled pork is not very good here too unfortunately. Service was rather slow and servers were not very attentive. But it was just 2 days after Christmas hence perhaps they were still in the holiday mood.

The exterior and interior make the place feel like an upscale restaurant. However, the single-use chopstick, the inadequate napkin and the plastic sheet over the table cloth say otherwise.I visited about 11:15, fifteen minutes into opening and yet the mopped floor was still wet. It felt the a/c was not fully turned on until about 11:40. I sweated a lot when eating Sze Chuan cuisines. More comments can be found in the captions of the added photos.

Welcome addition to the suburbs of a good Sichuan place. The crispy spicy chicken was very good so were the red oil dumplings. I hope they will get their alcohol license very soon. Space is pleasant.

Had a delightful meal with some traditional flavors. Service was on point and overall a fantastic experience especially over the holiday hustle and bustle. We'll definitely be back. ?

My friend + I arrived an hour half prior to close to this Chicago Szechuan favourite. No duck available BUT we did see the last one get cut + it smelled absolutely amazing as it was walked by.Every chili oil dish was fabulous! Explosive flavours + numbing sensations!!! Great spice levels. The peppercorns were fabulous. We especially loved the Dan Dan + Mapu .. but the way they created the sauce for their dumplings, whoa! Felt the dumplings were a bit on the thickish side, which I didn’t personally mind too much but my preference is a softer bite on the folds. Same for the xiaolongbao but the freshness of the dumplings were there + equally delicious. The fresh chilies spice level in the squid dish was a great welcomed feeling of amazement. Smiles balanced our table with every bite. One of the best salt + pepper prawns to date purely for the spicy. We ate enough to enjoy leftovers the next day to really see how well the food settled. So good. Day two didn’t disappoint. Looking forward to returning for the duck + new selections. Everyone was super friendly, kind + sincere with their recommendations + assistance. Great service! We were unexpectedly given 10% off coupons for our next visit. Shall definitely be returning. The flavours of the oil as well as the salt + pepper shrimp has permanently plagued my mind. The leftovers were so good the next day btw!Thank you Lao Sze Chuan!***Also, FB adverts offer free dumplings w/ purchase over $20 once you do a search it should pop up on your news feed to message. May take a try or two. Was not instant for my friend + IOur bounty:▪️Chef special duck soup (cabbage + cellophane noodles)▪️Mapo (tofu)▪️Dan Dan (noodles)▪️Spicy sour squid (cold)▪️Red chili oil dumplings▪️Xiaolongbao (soup dumplings)▪️Twice cooked pork▪️Salt + pepper prawns

I have to say that food is really authentic Szechuan and really tasty!!!Still think is kind of pricey.and the potions that they serve are not according with price for sure,The service was terrible and when we ask for dinner plates ; they say “we don’t have big plates, but only snack little dishes; which it was strange! We were having a full dinner in tiny dishes.Oh well, we made it work, but little plates are not ideal setting for a full course meal!!!Hope they notice this. Is good food!!!

I say slow service but non existent service is more to the point. We were seated relatively quickly and our drinks were served. We then saw nobody to take our order or to offer apologies or kiss our rears. 30 minutes of staff walking past our table and ignoring any attempt I made to place our order. That was enough. We left money on the table for the drinks and walked out. Nobody attempted to catch us or prevent us leaving. I will not recommend this awful place and was sorry I couldn’t taste their food.

The food was very good but a little pricey for the portion sizes. The service was also extremely slow and inattentive. I’m sure they will get that fixed tho since opened only recently.

The Peking duck here is amazing!! Just like what I had in Beijing!!! The duck skin is crunchy and juicy, going perfectly with the traditional Chinese sweet sauce. If you come early, you may can see the chief slicing your order!!! The servers there are so kind that will teach you how to roll the pancake. One of the most delectable entrees I recommend is ‘Chinese eggplant in spicy garlic sauce.’ The eggplant is both crisp and tender, with the starch of the rich garlic sauce. The server told us this is the most representative Sichuan cuisine, which is totally worthy of the name!!Another dish that I highly recommend is ‘orange series’. Last time I tried Orange chicken, and this time I ordered the orange beef, the same flavorful level, which is the perfect match rice!!!

Authentic Chinese food. Excellent service.Dry chili chicken is my favorite, crispy and juicy, with the sesame seeds on top.First time trying the orange beef. OMG!! That is awesome!!!!My most recommended Chinese restaurant!
