The owner of this Resturant cooks with passion. Couple of us visited Katy/Austin Tx from different states from California and Connecticut and mixed ethnicity as well. The food was amazing. Friendly service. Yes there are dinning tables and sittings outside however given how amazingly excellent our experience was EXPANSION IS VERY MUCH NEEDED for this restaurant. LOVE LOVE LOVE LEKKI-ISLAND RESTAURANT IN KATY TEXAS ❤️❤️❤️. The most authentic suya, ever eaten outside Nigeria, goat meat pepper soup, that amazing vegetable soup, my goodness the Fish OMG, I won’t brag about the Jelloff rice or plantain because I DON BELE FULL before those ones surfaced. Call before you just show up. I showed up on a Sunday. Online didn't say anything about the kitchen being semi closed. I walked in bartender was talking to two other patrons inside looked as if he could careless why I was there. I told him I wanted a order of oxtails he told me that the cook wasn't in today. He only shows up on Saturday. I gathered up all my stuff and left. They continued on as of nothing happened. I won't be going back. Place was literally empty and he wants to catch an attitude .Save your time.

The food is really good! The okara stew is the bomb but their grilled Tilapia is what keeps bringing me back. However, I’ll have to duck them a star for wait times. I cannot understand why it takes an hour and ten minutes to pick up an order. To be fair, I would not complain if I had to wait 30-40 minutes for the fish. But not an hour. This is the third time in a row I’ve experienced such delay. Need to work on order response and kitchen efficiency. That being said, I would still recommend trying out this restaurant.
Very welcoming staff and owner, we felt as though we were eating in our own kitchen. Everything was so good that we went back a second time in a space of 2 days. Food was fresh and extremely delicious! Will definitely be going there on my next visit to Houston!

Jala is very great at customer service, especially for a Naija restaurant, do whatever you have to do to keep her. She was very personable and patient on the phone and even sweeter in person. We ordered okra soup, jollof rice, grilled drum fish, designer stew, chicken suya platter, etc. I’m looking forward to my next visit and karaoke night. Glad to have Katy’s new Naija restaurant in our backyard!
