We haven't been here in about 1.5-2 years, but found our way here this morning and were very pleasantly surprised. The restaurant had a much needed, beautiful face-lift inside. We were greeted as soon as we walked in, and seated, offered drinks, chips and 2 salsas, and new menus. We were there for breakfast and the food was simply delicious!! Our waiter, Brandon, was very friendly, knowledgeable, and checked on us frequently to address any requests we had. We will definitely be back!

After living in Katy for over 12 years and always driving past Jalisco Los Altos, we finally decided to give it a try—and wow, we’re so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, the cool A/C was a refreshing escape from the Texas heat, and the experience only got better from there.
The breakfast menu had a great variety of options, and we were immediately impressed with the freshly made tortillas—both corn and flour, which is such a rare and welcome combo! They brought out chips and both green and red salsa, and the salsa was served warm (a telltale sign of great food coming your way).
The food came out fresh, warm, and so delicious. I ordered the barbacoa plate, which came with three tacos and charro beans. They let me do a mix of corn and flour tortillas (love that flexibility!), and the barbacoa itself was absolutely perfect—not overly greasy, not fatty, just flavorful and tender. Honestly, probably the BEST barbacoa I've ever had.
My husband got the machacado plate, which he’s super picky about. He hates when it's overloaded with onions, but this plate was spot-on balanced. He cleaned his plate and even saved a bit for leftovers—which says a lot. And for just $10, it was an amazing value for the portion size.
Bonus points: they even had a dish called “The Ashley” which I thought was so fun since it’s my name—what are the odds?! 😄
We wish we had taken pictures of our food before digging in, but trust—it looked and tasted phenomenal.
Everything from the warm hospitality to the flavorful food exceeded our expectations. We’re so happy we finally stopped by and will definitely be returning—our new local favorite!

This was my first visit since they changed ownership, decor, menu, etc. I wish they would change the name of the place all together. There was a very nauseating chemical smell when I walked in and it never went away. The atmosphere is definitely different, more minimalistic yet still very goofy. They did upgrade the booths and seating. I sat at the bar and ordered take away. Brandon was very nice and went over the menu and options with me. The menu is completely different and prices are higher than before. I was offered and given a complimentary frozen margarita because they didn't get their license yet. The chips came with a red and a green sauce which were both good. I liked the pork tacos, and the tortillas were very good. I liked the rice. The refried beans were not edible. The chicken fajitas were dry and bland. It came with basic salad sides, pico and avocado (not guac). The tortillas for the fajitas were good but not given many. Overall it was not very impressive and I do have some sore feelings about losing the original Jalisco. I'll likely give them another chance at a sit down experience.

OMG!!! The food was amazing! We ordered the tacos al carbon with rice and beans, coctel de camaron and menudo. Everything had great flavor. We were in the area from an hour away for a doctor's appointment. I will definitely make that hour drive for this delicious food. Our waitress was so nice and professional, too!
