Beautiful atmosphere. Very photogenic. Great food and lots of options for teas! Unfortunately service was lack lusting. I got there for a party of 2, my friend was running late and I sat there for 12 mins with no one check up on me. When my friend got there, it was another 10 mins of waiting for our server. Our server barely check up on us and when it was time to pay, we paid, tipped based of how poorly the service was, he walked off with an attitude n disappeared without giving the receipt. And it wasn’t that busy when we were there. The rush died down so I don’t understand where he disappeared to the whole time we were there for an hour and a half

I had heard that Proper Rose Garden had made a call for help as they were struggling. As a business owner, I understand the need for help in these days so came to try it out.

Upon entering the gentleman behind the counter greeted us and gave us a few options on where to sit. We chose to sit in the booth by the window. The first thing that we noticed was how dirty the booth was. The tables had a sticky residue on them and the seats had hairs stuck in the crevice's. Luckily I had a wipe that I began wiping down the table and tried pulling out some of the hairs stuck in there. Should a customer have to clean their own table? No, they should not.

The service was good, the gentleman was quick at taking our order and food came out quick. When it was time for the bill, he was attentive and brought it out quick.

For food, I had order the egg sandwich and a latte. The egg sandwich was flavorful but the latte wasn't the best I have had, nor the worst.

Overall, I do not think I would return, the uncleanliness is unacceptable. Going over the other reviews, multiple people mention the place/dishes being dirty. To ask for help, you must first help yourself.

Service is horrible, take 30 minutes to pay the bill and 45 minutes to get to go box. Servers never pays attention to your raised hands

First time I've had afternoon tea after years of wanting to try it, and im sad to say I am disappointed in the quality of this place. Dishes were dirty, food was underwhelming, pastries weren't worth the price ( a bit over 80 dollars), and the pastries weren't warm.

However, something I did really enjoy was the rose milk tea. The servers did change out the dirty dishes for new ones after being informed.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience. Two weeks ago, I called ahead to make a reservation and specifically requested a table along the back wall with the greenery. The staff confirmed this would be possible, so I was excited and even told my guest where we would be seated.

However, when we arrived this past Sunday, we were told there was no reservation under my name. Not only was this untrue, but the hostess had also given our reservation to another party! I had received a confirmation call at 11:30 AM that day, so it was clear our reservation had been acknowledged. Yet, the hostess insisted there was no reservation for us and gave our spot to someone else. She claimed, “Sometimes people use different names,” but that explanation doesn’t make sense, especially since the party she seated had a completely different name and headcount. Either the reservation was outright stolen, or the hostess simply wasn’t paying attention. When I asked for assistance, she told me to email the owner because she couldn’t help.

This was just the beginning of the terrible experience. We waited over 45 minutes for our tea, the fries arrived cold and had to be sent back, and the food itself was mediocre at best.

After seeing a Facebook post practically begging for business, I decided to give this place a chance, but now I understand why they are struggling. I will not be returning and will make sure to warn my friends about the poor experience at Proper Rose.

The place is beautiful, the teas are really good and the staff is really nice (Dylan, our server, was the best), but the service is not good. We were a party of 8 and they brought us our plates with an interval of 5 to 10 minutes between plates. We are Latin and we don’t start eating until everyone has the food served, so we had to wait until all the plates were brought to start eating.

For me, bathrooms are really important and reflect the cleanliness of the place and the bathrooms here are not nice at all.

I’m sure that you can work these things out so to make it a 5 stars place.

This place is great atmosphere! The tea is amazing. Look I'm mexican and they make Tress Leche better than my own! Daughter and wife loves this place. 10 out of 10

Sad. We’ve loved Proper Rose Garden. Last week we went for a tea party with myself and my 4 yr old. We asked if possible for the tea pot to have only cold water in it for her to be able to participate, the waiter and owner at the time were so sweet and accommodating. Unfortunately, we came back a week later and the waiter we had today stated only tea was allowed in the tea pots (even though tea is typically made of water). When I mentioned this was a kind accommodation they had previously made, the waiter declined that they would ever have done this. It was a very disheartening experience. We’ll be dining elsewhere next time.

Terrible customer service. I have never been treated that bad by the host/ waiter like that girl before. This is first time I feel so annoying and disrespected when eating out. Do not ever come to this place.

Updated: they said they offered me the alternative table. They never did so. I asked if I can change to other table, that host stared at me disrespectfully and refused to let I move to any other table.

The service wasn't great. The server only came out to the table when I asked for him the majority of the time. He allowed trash and dishes to pile up. Some of the tea cups were not clean. We picked the chicken sandwiches with our tier option. The chicken looked old and very dark in the middle. I went and experienced it. Wouldn't go back again.

It is a beautiful place with many details in the decoration. I love how they serve tea. And the delicious food. But the cleaning is very bad. . Dirty bathrooms. The dirty floor. The dirty mat. Very unpleasant. The chairs need to be washed.

I met with 3 other girlfriends and we shared 2 afternoon teas between us, which was plenty.
The food was lovely and the rose tea was amazing.

It's definitely going to be on our rotation of coffee places going forward.

Highly recommend 👌

i do not mean this crudely but in hopes that things would change. I did the very expensive tea party set where we get tea + cookies and biscuits and i have to say.. everything was SO dry and bland. The two..sandwiches up top that were BLTS? were decent but there were four people...so two baby slices of BLT were not gonna feed four people. it says it will feed a lot of people but if I'm being honest it really doesn't. i brought four people in total and we left hungry and thirsty. it is not supposed to be a stuff yourself full by any means but... nothing tasted good enough to finish.

we also did the cute little dragon thing filled with ice cream or whatever it was and that was okay. We also did the garlic fries that was 6/10. We did an egg sandwhich to try that...4/10 dont do it. and we did a salmon sandwhich to try it that was better 6/10.

We got the strawberry/raspberry tea and that was amazing 10/10 i honestly for some reason was expecting free refills on the tea with that expensive of a party but no free refills. but its no problem! it makes sense a good size tea pot for $7.95 splitting it up between four people it was basically as if we had gotten a soda each anyway so no problem 10/10.

The service was eh, their tables are incredibly small even in the large booths so there was no where to put anything. the one party set thing covers basically up the whole table by itself. i would of really appreciated the waitress coming by and grabbing some of the random plates/cups we were done with/weren't using. it was a very slow day it was just us in there so i honestly didn't understand why there were no one watching us. maybe they were on break/lunch which is understandable.

overall, we spent almost $200 for everything and i was hesitate to add tip because all they did was bring us food and that was it but, we tipped anyway because of how large the bill was. so in total almost $300s here.

i highly recommend doing fresh ingredient's as much as possible. If they're hard when you put it on the plate...just toss it and make new ones id be happy to wait the 10-15 or so minutes.

the atmosphere was very cute, quiet, quaint so no problem.
