This place has really gone downhill. Twice now my fried okra is burnt mashed potatoes are way too salty and like usual I got home and my whole order was wrong. I used to brag about red river To friends. But I feel like I’ve just been robbed. I didn’t mind paying $18 for a meal a Year ago. Now I’m going out of my way to leave a review on the worst barbecue place in Katy.

The shrimp po-boy is excellent! Perfectly breaded, not to much, not too little. The fried okra is great too!

Great place to get delicious eats.went there with my daughter I had the 2 meat loaded
baked potato and my daughter had the brisket sandwich with fried pickles.

Everything tasted great, warm and delicious BBQ favor. Portions were beyond what we could finish and took some home for a later night snack.

They only give a tiny size bbq sauce for the BBQ stuffed potato if you want more you have to pay $.75 cents for what they call a 3oz serving. They put the smallest amount of sour cream. So they want everyone to eat dry food.

Horrible if looking for Texas BBQ. We have better in Chicago where I’m from. Very disappointed coleslaw very underwhelming as well.

Great burgers, decent fries, decent prices, and decent sized portions - but below average service. Atmosphere was fine with good music playing, and a few tv screens on the wall. No issues with this place other than the staff didn’t act like they cared they had customers! They couldn’t figure out how to apply rewards on the register, and never once asked how the food was, asked if we needed anything else, nor greeted us on the way in or thanked us on the way out. I don’t know if we will be back based on all of this. Good burger though…

It's fine.

Hubby had sausage and onion rings and I enjoyed a brisket sandwich with rings. This was our first visit and will not be our last! :)

Nov 2024 - we've driven by here hundreds of times saying, "we need to try this place." We'll, today we did... it was good we liked it very much. And we'll be back bc our son just moved into an apt complex just down the street. It wasn't crowded, so the service was good, no wait. The food came out quickly. The atmosphere was typical of a BBQ joint in Texas. However there were lots of TV with college football on which was a ++. We both had the 2 meat plate... me brisket & sausage... wife brisket & chicken. All of it had good flavor and taste great. Like I said... we'll be back.

A true Texas-style diner experience! The brisket was tender and juicy, just as you'd hope for. The chicken leg, however, had a bit of chewiness to the skin, which might not be for everyone. Thankfully, they go easy on the salt, which I appreciated.

We used to be regulars here. This was our favorite family restaurant. We recently came in for dinner and the entire menu has changed. The jalapeño shrimp poppers were the best thing this side of the Mississippi, gone. The Sourdough bread on the Durango burger made this my favorite burger in Houston, no more sourdough. The daily specials gone! The kids used to get a salad from the salad bar with a side, and we’re all disappointed the salad bar is gone. We walked out after all of these changes. Very disappointed. Please bring back the old stuff!!! Don’t turn this into the Red River Cantina!!! ?

No more salad bar. No 12 shrimp lunch special. Won’t be going here anymore. They ruined a good thing.

Edit: Have been coming for years for the Wednesday 12 shrimp lunch special.
