Hubby had sausage and onion rings and I enjoyed a brisket sandwich with rings. This was our first visit and will not be our last! :)

Nov 2024 - we've driven by here hundreds of times saying, "we need to try this place." We'll, today we did... it was good we liked it very much. And we'll be back bc our son just moved into an apt complex just down the street. It wasn't crowded, so the service was good, no wait. The food came out quickly. The atmosphere was typical of a BBQ joint in Texas. However there were lots of TV with college football on which was a ++. We both had the 2 meat plate... me brisket & sausage... wife brisket & chicken. All of it had good flavor and taste great. Like I said... we'll be back.

A true Texas-style diner experience! The brisket was tender and juicy, just as you'd hope for. The chicken leg, however, had a bit of chewiness to the skin, which might not be for everyone. Thankfully, they go easy on the salt, which I appreciated.

We used to be regulars here. This was our favorite family restaurant. We recently came in for dinner and the entire menu has changed. The jalapeño shrimp poppers were the best thing this side of the Mississippi, gone. The Sourdough bread on the Durango burger made this my favorite burger in Houston, no more sourdough. The daily specials gone! The kids used to get a salad from the salad bar with a side, and we’re all disappointed the salad bar is gone. We walked out after all of these changes. Very disappointed. Please bring back the old stuff!!! Don’t turn this into the Red River Cantina!!! ?

Brisket is dried and tastes old hopefully I don't get sick and so was the turkey breast it was super dry and the fries were over salted not worth it

Ordered to go and loved their drive thru experience. It was so easy and convenient. Now on to the food, we got the 2 meat plates (brisket, pulled pork, a spud with everthing on the side instead of two sides for one, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese for the other) and hush puppies with fries. I really enjoyed the hush puppies with the brisket in it. I was full after that but did try a little bit of everything else and it was delicious, moist, and flavorful.

? so sad. When they reopened they changed the menu. All our favorites are GONE! No more fried mushrooms, no more salad bar, no more corn dogs, no more rib eye steak, no more daily specials. Why change a good thing?? BOO!!!! This was your differentiator! RR was our favorite place. I am in tears. Please bring the mushrooms, corn dog and steak back!

I was here yesterday and ordered 2 brisket plates the sides were the cream corn, Mac n cheese and baked beans. The brisket was delicious! We got the brisket nice and wet?! They provided thick slices and they were perfectly seasoned and tender. The Mac n cheese was good, the cream corn was super yummy and flavorful! The only side I didn’t really like were the baked beans. They didn’t really taste like anything other than canned beans. A little pepper and bbq sauce would have helped them. Overall this place did not disappoint and we will return!

Wonderful experience from first entering to the end! Clean, great service, delicious food, clean bathrooms . The waitress even gave our little one a complimentary ice pop! We LOVE this BBQ place over any other in Katy and Houston and USA!!!

It was fine. There aren't very many vegetarian options, but that's to be expected at a barbecue place.
Dietary restrictions: I'm a pescetarian, and the options for seafood weren't terrible. Most of it was fried, which wasn't great. But there were non-fried options.
