The softserve is delicous and they always have great flavor options. My favorite flavors for soft serve so far are horchata, earl grey, and black sesame. If you are a slow eater I would definitely recommeng getting the upside down ahbong. For the taiyakis my favorites are matcha, nutella, and red bead. Be mindful when eating nutella taiyakis as the nutella on the inside gets really hot, unlike the other fillings. The place gets pretty packed on weekends, there might not be space to eat inside, especially if you have a large group. Regardless of your wait time it is definitely worth it.

Somisomi is always a solid choice when I’m craving something sweet but not overly heavy. This time I ordered the matcha soft serve in the taiyaki cone, and it was exactly what I wanted.
The matcha flavor was smooth and well-balanced — not too bitter, not overly sweet. You can actually taste the green tea instead of just sugar, which I really appreciate. The texture was creamy and light, and the swirl was generous.
What makes Somisomi fun is the taiyaki cone. It’s freshly made, slightly crispy on the outside and soft inside. The combination of warm taiyaki and cold soft serve just works. It adds a nice contrast in texture that makes it more interesting than a regular cone.
The shop itself is clean and efficient. Even when there’s a line, it moves pretty quickly. Staff are friendly and patient when explaining flavor combinations.
If you like matcha or just want something refreshing after a meal, this is a great spot. It’s not too heavy, not too sweet, and always consistent. I’ll definitely be back for other flavor combos next time.

Great ice cream. Fun presentation. Waffle tasted great. Took a pretty big group out for a fun dessert and eating ice cream from the fish waffle was definitely a fun experience. Only a couple of us had been before and kind of knew what we were getting but everyone else made it much more fun while they tried to figure out what we had dragged them into. Great little shop. Fast service. Couldn’t have asked for anything better.

I love soft served ice cream above regular ice cream, Gelato,milkshakes, etc. My personal favorite flavor is the ube. I like ordering the taiyaki on the side with custard for a warm chewy contrast to the soft serve ice cream. This time we tried black sesame and oreo.. not the best. The black sesame tasted burnt and if you were blind folded.. you couldn't taste the oreo flavor, 2/5 wouldn't recommend. Still giving them 5 stars cause I've had good experiences with other flavors, just not this time around. Would still come back.

We tried the taiyaki, one with red bean and the other with Nutella, and a horchata soft serve with cocoa pebbles and Biscoff crumbles added on… Everything was very good! I’m looking forward to going back to try different flavors
This place is always packed, and while the waiting area is definitely on the cramped side, the soft serve is absolutely worth the squeeze

Although the line can get long and extend out the door, I've never waited more than about 15 minutes. The only negative I have is the parking is terrible. There simply is not enough space available.

It’s so yummy. Staff is kind, I cld tell they were overwhelmed by the rush of people but they stayed so locked in and efficient! My only cons would be no seating, tables not very clean, and small space but I can’t blame anyone for that yk😅 I love the Somi Somi in LA and was excited to see they have it in Houston! Great prices for the portion size, defo will be back
