Clean - but tired - customer counter, dining area, & unisex restroom. Kind, helpful, & efficient waitstaff. Steady foot traffic. In the Williamsburg Shopping Center at the corner of 16th & Lamar Ave. Plenty of parking in a big corner lot w/ EZAccess to drive-thru. 3 tables for dining in. Late in the morning there's not a big selection, but the jalapeño kolaches are exceptionally good?, & well... nasty coffee?. Got 2 Kolaches & a coffee for only $5.⁵⁰....
I have lived in Katy my whole life so I have had a lot of experience with Southern Maid, and it has always been really good. I haven't tried the donuts as I am more a kolache person, so I can say they legitimately have the best when compared to Shipley's or any other smaller shop. Now on my visit to this store, my order was messed up (very simple mix up). Normally this is where most adults begin to rage, but I as I mentioned before the kolaches are so good I didn't...
