The food was great, was a pleasant surprise. We were going to Pei Wei at first but decided to try something new today and the food was hot,fresh, and very tasty. The Green Beans were phenomenal!! Will definitely be back, I just felt that the service was little on the weaker side for how slow it was. Other than that, everyone should give it a try!

We visited Steam Dumpling for lunch after reading all the raving reviews and we are not disappointed. All the food we ordered, Xiaolongbao, beef roll pancake, lamb shumai, spicy wonton and glass noodles in chili. Everything tastes on the spot. Service is fast and warming. I highly recommend this place for anyone seeking for an authentic dumpling experience.

I had been craving noodles and dumplings for a while, so I was thrilled to find out that Steam Dumpling opened in Katy, saving me the drive to Chinatown - Bellaire. My first visit to this spot did not disappoint!
The customer service was friendly and exceeded expectations, with water always refilled promptly. For my meal, I decided to try a variety of dishes. First, the Chinese burger caught my eye out of curiosity, and it did not disappoint. It reminded me of the BBQ pork bao you get during dim sum, and the flavor was spot on.
Next, I ordered two noodle dishes: the spicy beef noodle and the wide hand-pulled noodles. The spicy beef noodle was packed with flavor, the meat was tender, and the spice level was perfect—although I wouldn’t mind a bit more heat. The wide hand-pulled noodles, served with a simple chili garlic oil, were incredibly satisfying. The noodles were chewy and fun to eat, and the chili oil’s flavor was addictive.
Lastly, we had the pan-fried pork and shrimp dumplings, which were an absolute highlight. They were juicy and bursting with flavor with every bite—a perfect way to round out the meal. Oh yeah, the portions were well-worth the price and shareable.
This is my first time here, but it definitely won’t be the last. I believe Steam Dumpling is family-owned, and I highly recommend supporting this hidden gem if you’re in the Katy or Cinco Ranch area. It’s conveniently located by the 99 tollway and well worth the visit!

Highly recommend the Szechuan eggplant, the xiao long bao (soup dumplings) and the beef pancake. 10/10
