After trying a few Japanese restaurants in Katy we gave Tobiuo a try yesterday and that was the best decision… the place is nice, the service was great and the food is simply delicious… A young lady called Hyewon was the waitress who took care of us , she was very nice, attentive and friendly. Shout out to their honey ginger lemonade. (I had the best sliced ginger ever)

We came in for a casual lunch and ordered the 9-course omakase at $120. Somehow it turned into a 13-course market-price set at $240 per person. For three girls at lunch, that was way too much food and not what we had in mind. We honestly had to push ourselves to finish, and we even had to take the dessert to go because we were completely overwhelmed. Our total came out to $835 for lunch. That’s a huge jump from what we originally ordered.
A little more clarity on pricing would have made the experience much better.

Be careful with their Omakase menu trap/scam. We came in with 3 people to have a simple omakase for LUNCH. We have a lot of experience in Omakase and were careful to ask the waitress to confirm that what we order is the 9 course omakase for $120/each BECAUSE they have another set underneath at Market price. We didn't count how many courses served while eating. At the end after a big meal which we had to overeate to not waste food, we were charged for $240 each person market price for the set that we didn't order. Total $720 without tip for 3 people. WTH. We know we were tricked because that special market price is even too much for a big guy, three of us are petite. The waitress went straight to market price menu without telling us the price for that day up front while we ordered $120/set for 9 course. Such a shady managing.
