We were highly disappointed by the food . We ordered 4 dishes and margs. The margs were real strong but not flavorful. The food was real bad all of it. Will definitely not be back

I love this place. Try the Sopes Cubanos.
Tonati was a mixed bag. The food was passable but nothing to write home about. The salads felt a little light on ingredients. The sopes tasted rather bland.
The service was passable, but in all honesty you could tell the server was new. Other servers were attentive to their tables. The kitchen has an issue when the restaurant gets busy that it gets backed up and the time between ordering and getting your food can get up to 30 minutes if not more.
The atmosphere was nice, the restaurant looked good.
I don't think I will return here, Ambriza is just 5 minutes down the road for much faster service and higher quality food.

The food is very good at a decent price. The servers don’t always speak English very well so the communication can be a little bumpy, but all very nice and gentle people.
I love the decor there too, feels cozy and welcoming.
We’re big fans of their margaritas, quesadillas and fajitas, as well as their beans.

Friendly greeting from the host and immediately seated. To begin the bean dip and salsa were both great as were the tortilla chips. Great service from start to finish. The beef was flavorful and tender. The rice and refried black beans were very good. The decor was simple and inviting. I look forward to future visits.

Walked in with another party and an employee told both parties to sit down without taking our names. A 3 rd party walked in, then finally the host came and got all parties names. He gave the people that just walked in the first table when we had been sitting and waiting. We told the host we were there first and he admitted he did not get our names or ask who was there first. This happed 11/1/24 at 7 pm.

We have supported this place since they took over from the old Italian restaurant and were often one of three tables. How soon they forget! Today we were told that we could leave when I asked to be served as we received no menus no water and zero respect. The bartender Antonio or manager was annoyed that we elected to wait for a booth. We always sit at a booth as we have our 7 yo in tow. Instead of appreciating loyal customers we were shown the door. A pity that to get a decent Mexican food experience we have to go into Houston or better yet do it ourselves at home.
The barbacoa tacos were great! The barbacoa was a bit crispy and full of flavor while habanero onions add just the right amount of kick. The cucumber lime agua fresca was refreshing!

The food was delicious, with great flavors and a fresh feel. We tried three different dishes, and all were great. While I personally would have liked slightly larger portions, that’s just a preference.
We also sampled two of their house-made drinks, which were both tasty—I’ve uploaded some pictures of those. The jalapeño margarita was another standout, offering a flavorful, unique twist.
Our server, Pedro, provided exceptional service. He was professional, respectful, answered all our questions, and even opened the door for us as we left, which added a thoughtful touch.
The dining area has a great atmosphere, though the back and the restrooms could use some attention. A bathroom renovation would help bring the entire space up to the same standard as the main dining room.

As a Mexican I can say the food is mediocre, the mole is not Mexican mole, is a greasy dark version of it, I hate to be asking for chips and drink refills, this place has so much potential but the small portions and overpriced menu makes it not worth it.
