Vinotinto Grill (Carne En Vara)

• Unsanitary environment: No AC, no enclosed space, flies everywhere, and I did not see sinks or restrooms nearby. • Overpriced: The food was not clearly displayed, and paying $42 for one pound of meat was unacceptable. • Poor quality and flavor: It did not compare to a real Texas barbecue place in taste or quality. • Pushy service: Staff was nice, but they kept trying to upsell almost everything. • Overall: Not worth the time or money. I would not return.

Everything about this place is awesome! It brought me back childhood memories of La Colonia Tovar. The service was so welcoming, kind, and caring! The FOOD!!!! SO GOOD!!! The soup was hearty and flavorful, the blood sausage is to die for, the beef was well grilled and perfectly seasoned, the chicharrón is worth the blood pressure mini spike. 😁
Seriously, if you want to try Venezuelan BBQ, or simply miss home… this is your sign.

If you are in Katy, Tx or around the area, and want to have a different experience, with good “carne en vara” steak, go to this place … I have Venezuelans friends, and love them, but after getting to know Don Luis (the owner) love them even more .. amazing customer service, extremely delicious steak flavor, perfectly cooked and the sides of yuca and salad was a perfect fresh complement, the cachapa it’s real corn ? you can taste it . This is not the only thing, as soon as you arrive Don Luis will ask you if you are new in the restaurant, if yes you will be “baptize” with a crunchy delicious peace of steak to welcome you to his Vinotinto family ! Recommended ?
