Voodoo Doughnut is fun and unique, but the experience can be hit or miss. The doughnuts are creative and visually impressive, but the taste and texture aren’t always consistent — some can be dry or overly sweet. The shop has a quirky, lively atmosphere, which is fun for a quick visit, but it can get crowded and chaotic. The staff are friendly, though service can be slow when it’s busy. It’s a cool spot to try something unusual, but I wouldn’t say it’s a must-visit for everyone.

My son and i are visiting family in Katy and we decided to stop in and try the doughnuts.
Coconut made our first time a fun and quirky experience. She was helpful and patient and answered all our questions.
We enjoyed our visit and the doughnuts are tasty and fun to eat.

Let me tell you something: I’ve been in the donut world my entire life, and I have never met anyone in this industry like Coconut. This woman is an absolute gem. The moment you walk into the Voodoo Doughnut on N. Fry Rd., she’s the one who makes you feel like you came to the right place.

She’s kind in a way that feels genuine — not that “retail smile” you get everywhere else. She’s patient, she listens, and she actually cares about the people she’s serving. That alone sets her apart.

But Coconut is also sharp. She knows her menu, knows her customers, and — apparently — knows how to save people from themselves. She reminded me (with love) that bringing peanut-butter anything to my daughter’s school could turn me into a walking lawsuit. She saved a kid from needing an EpiPen and saved me from looking like an idiot. That kind of honesty and care is rare.

On top of all that, her energy is just unmatched. Coconut is the bees knees — no cap, no exaggeration. If every business had someone like her at the front, customer service in this country would actually mean something again.

Voodoo Doughnut is lucky to have her. And if you walk in and see Coconut behind the counter, just know you’re in good hands.

Anytime I go to the Westheimer or Washington locations, they are almost always sold out of the vegan apple fritters. This location however, always has some and they aren't already stale. It's a further drive but at least I know I'll be able to get my vegan apple fritters.

This was our first and last time having Voodoo donuts. We ordered a donut and apple fritter. They were heavily soaked in oil and my fritter had way too much glaze on it. My coffee was barley warm and tasted old. We left and threw everything in the trash. Wasted 15$ on the worst garbage I've ever tasted in my life. Disgusting!!!! Lol...I've never been so pissed about terrible food in my life.
