Tried Moons for the first time on Sunday after church. It was very busy & they often look closed. We really enjoyed everything & will go back. Food had great flavor. Just imagine if we all opted to spend our money at a small family business over a fast food or big chain.
We ordered baked fish, meatloaf and fried chicken. All came with sides amazing hot rolls and then we got pie for dessert.
This place has been here since I was a kid and still has the best food in Kaufman and best service around. The sweetest people that I know!
Man tasted like Grandma's house fried fish was delicious and the chicken was fresh and hot will definitely be going back
Hidden gem located behind the Circle K. Food is homemade, literally grandma in the kitchen. Small location and very nice staff. Food was phenomenal. Thursdays they have baked porkchops and baked potatoes. Very quiet environment. New favorite location.
We were passing through and decided to stop by. We are so glad we did. The selection was great on a Friday with beef stew, meatloaf, fried chicken, saulsbury steak, and fried catfish. We tried the Salisbury steak, catfish, chicken fried steak, and fried chicken. Each one was delicious. The veggies were home cooked, delicious, and seasoned well. We would definitely visit again. 4 people are for about $55, very reasonable.

This homestyle restaurant is a gem hidden in plain sight. Now having tried this place, I intend to eat here every time I'm on the road through Kaufman. This restaurant is wonderful, and the city is blessed to have a place of tradition like this. You can't find this in Dallas.

Reminds me of my high school lunch but the food is better and price is not bad. It's hidden away behind circle K.
Parking: Plenty of room plus a drive thru.

We love to go to Moons on Thursdays because they have enchiladas + baked pork chops! Today I had the baked pork chop, and it was delicious!! Their Jalapeno corn bread is unmatched! I highly HIGHLY recommend Moons.
Their staff is always very friendly!

The food is always very good. Best fried chicken anywhere. Nicest humble people. Love the comfortable atmosphere. Alex and her family are just good people.Also..the best pies! They also make fried catfish, cfc, french fries by order . Quickly made delicious!
Vegetarian options: There are always several vegetarian selections.
Dietary restrictions: Baked chicken, fish, fresh veggies & salads!
Parking: Plenty of parking and the usual handicap spaces available.
Kid-friendliness: There are highchair and boosters for children if needed. Foods as well that kids like!

So I decided to try moons….. I read some pretty harsh reviews “the food is dry” well I gave MOONS a shot and was surprised literally the best pork chop ever lol….. best corn muffins ever so good I bought the rest that they had, only real complaint was my tiny little sisters said the mash potatoes were salty, although I didn’t experience that myself because I’m on a seafood diet. Anyhoot you should definitely give this place a shot there super friendly….. only of course if your into delicious homestyle food!

The food was good. The service is friendly. The place is clean and chill to sit down in if you’re passing by on a drive.I really don’t appreciate the overly critical reviews here. It’s cafeteria style, ‘home style’ food. And ‘home’ is going to be like they owners, cook, and local people eat their food. It isn’t gourmet nor is it going to be made just like you’d make it at home. I suggest you consider the impact on a business before you just review ‘won’t return’ and don’t have any real, constructive criticism.I had dressing, baked chicken, stew, mac and cheese, and almost all the veggies they had to offer. Over two days. Cause I’m visiting my hometown, and it’s too hot to expect anyone to cook for me. And I can’t exist on fast-food.Imma go every time I come through town!
