Very fun experience. Food was phenomenal and the evening was wonderful. It's worth the cost.
We went out on our monthly date night at Ishtia and it was an AMAZING experience! It was such a pleasure to try new ingredients we've never had before and the presentation of all of the courses were beautiful too! I've been to Eculent many years ago, but I can see that chef hasn't missed a beat since!
Delicious food and great customer service
Lovely small tasting restaurant. It was cuisine from the indigenous people of the Americas. The food was very good and presentaion spectacular! The chef David Skinner is very talented and nice. But he is a man of few words & more explanation about what we were tasting would have been apprecated. It was a very low energy vibe . Skip the $189 pp wine pairing & order by glass what you want. The wine was ok but not great.
ISHTIA is not to be missed. Chef Skinner's creativity and culinary genius are on full display with this unique tasting menu. He and his team bring their A-game and deliver surprising bites, wines and cocktails like no other restaurant in Houston. It's worth the drive!!
The most unique dining experience in the Houston area. Does not disappoint!! Chef skinner is amazing.

What a great evening. 20 something individual courses/bites. Each unique, flavorful and fun to eat. Many surprises. The focus on indigenous American food with family ties made it a very informative evening. I highly recommend.
I never thought I could be stunned into reverent silence by a bite of food. Yet the menu at Ishtia did that to me several times over the course of the evening. If you have the means and the time, book a seat at this restaurant.
First time for our dining experience at this five-star establishment. David Skinner has done a remarkable job of weeding in multiple cuisines, cocktails, wines, desserts etc. We came in for the multi-course dining experience and it was absolutely incredible. We will be back to the other restaurants on-site. Keep in mind he has his own winery and distillery on site. David and his team take you through the kitchen, through all of this story of historical prominence of the dishes he prepares. A true gentleman, scholar and awesome chef!

What a night! We really enjoyed the Ishtia dining experience. Charmed from the moment I saw the cute little garden and prominently displayed quote from one of my favorite authors, Roald Dahl "A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men." Really set the stage for our evening. The dining experience starts upstairs in the winery with a drink if you like, and the first few small bites. I don't want to give too much away, but we really appreciated the focus on local and indigenous ingredients. Chef David Skinner guides you through each course and delivers surprises and knowledge without pretension. The main dining experience takes place in a cozy dining room around a gorgeous wooden bar. You are surrounded with unique collection of mementos and ingredients. I did the classic wine pairing and enjoyed it. My dining partner had a couple cocktails, but they have very limited spirits available. The plating and presentation beautifully exceeded my expectations and the food was delicious. Ishtia's awards and hype are well deserved. If you aren't an adventurous eater, this might push your boundaries, but I think most people will leave delighted. Is it expensive? Yeah. BUT this isn't some pretentious place where you pay an outrageous price for absurdly small portions and leave hungry. Those are the worst. After Ishtia, I was well fed, but not uncomfortably full despite the numerous courses. I would put this dinner on par with a Michelin star experience we had in Iceland at Restaurant Ox- both have a skilled chef with laser focused menu and playful fulfilling dining experience. Well worth the drive to Kemah!
The presentation of the food was appealing. However I’m not impressed with the flavor of most dishes. The ingredients and taste are too mundane for the price. More importantly, the whole experience took waaayyy too long - more than 10min interval between each dish and more than 5hrs in total?
And the dishes did not contain enough protein - most were soups and sweet stuff that only make you more hungry during the 5hrs. I understand that this is more of an experience but at least you should feed people enough meat and that’s like the basic of a good meal.
The room was cramped and people were sitting shoulder to shoulder. The guy behind me was loud and shouting the whole time.
Would not recommend if you think “well this is expensive so the food must taste amazing.” No it does not. May be ok for social but any bar with a fraction of the cost can do equally well. A huge waste of time.
Perhaps THE best and most amazing meal we've had in the most diverse food city in the USA!! Outstanding service too!
Hands-down the most unique restaurant experience I’ve ever had in my life. Definitely an adult core memory. Two years later I still crave the mushroom salad and grilled Caesar.
Completely unique
