Very cool place to visit in Houston. We were visiting from Chicago and looked up Speakeasys. Hidden gem in back of the restaurant, with cozy seating, and a friendly bartender. They made us some good margaritas!

A nice place to listen to live music but the service is horrible. The food is absolutely disgusting. Ordered a muffuletta and got a poor excuse of a muffuletta sub sandwich with no flavor but mustard. The chips were horribly greasy and tasted like they were fried in two week old oil. Had to go next door to get decent food. Never again. Drinks were also sub par.

Shelby was amazing ! spent like 2 hrs here just chilling and had such a good time <3 outdoor seating, a pool table, and amazing atmosphere! def recommend!
Came here Saturday night for a couple drinks and had the misfortune of Shelby being the bartender. She was clearly selective about who she ID’d. she didn’t ID two younger white guys that came in to order shots that looked younger than were.
She also seemed to hate her job. A group came in and ordered shots and she rolled her eyes. Sorry, but isn’t this your job? Left no tip and dipped out after 1 drink. Would highly recommend not going here if you’re looking for friendly or fast service. Note to Monkey Bar — hire bar staff that will actually keep people at the bar. Note to Shelby — find another job if you don’t like bartending.

While the atmosphere was promising, the bartender was also the waitress for a busy place. The order was taken wrong in terms of the amount of food. The tacos were dry with no cheese, no salsa or any condiments offered. Not even napkins were offered. The drinks were ok. Bartender’s attitude was very dry and unconcerned. She also seemed like she had a couple of drinks herself. The service was substandard for it to be located in Kemah. I thought it would be better service also for the amount of money spent. The prices were ok for Kemah hence a tourist area. It would have been better had it been adequately staffed.
