The chili rellenos is to die for!! In the space back when I was a teenager was called Navarrete's Mexican Cafe. It was kinda known for it's chili rellenos and uniqueness and flavor. Well El Joey's is that taste and more. Reminds me of my favorite restaurant

El Slowy's not El Joeys. Worst service ever, waited 45 minutes, no menu or drinks. I will not frequent a restaurant that isn't open on the weekends..

Ever heard of Kermit, TX? Well that's were I ended up for a lunch meeting while on a business trip. If you look it up, Kermit is between the size of a village and a small town, right above in the middle of the oil drilling landscape that is West Texas. This restaurant is pretty much what you would expect and appreciate, busling at lunch hour, full of blue collared workers and food that is a comfort blend of Mexican and Texan ( I think there's a name for that?). I ordered a taco salad which came on what seemed like fry bread. I love fry bread! It was a smaller portion than what I expected. I love places like this, what you see is what you get and that's pretty darn okay with me. The service was good and you have to pay at the counter. To be honest I was surprised this place was listed on Yelp but glad it was. I will need to return and find out who this Joey guy is.

Best Mexican food in town! Go early because it gets packed. Most of the waitress staff are friendly except one!

My friend ordered some food they did not bring him what he ordered. They insisted he eat the food anyway. He refused, payed them$5.00 for the tea. They called the cops on a dine and dash, they arrested him at another restaurant, took him back to the dine and dash accusation, only to learn they threw his food in the trash, cops made restaurant remake his food. Which he had to pay for and then he threw it in the trash. So if u have had problems, please repost it.

Service is very slow and they aren't very friendly either.( if you have a lot of time it shouldn't be a problem) the food is average, FIY both times I went my daughter got sick on chicken enchiladas.

Stopped in for lunch. Food was good, service was a little slow, but server was very attentive. I would recommend, unless you are in a hurry.

They only serve lunch, their hot sauce is delicious and the food was great.
