Great service, had a two meat plate and the BBQ was excellent. Was very satisfied with everything except I had to wait for longer than necessary when I called and placed my order for pickup. Without that hiccup it's a great place to eat. Will stop in for lunches here on a regular basis.

I decided to try this place out, and I can say that the food is pretty good. I ordered the 3 meat BBQ plate with the brisket, pulled pork and ribs, and the 2 sides as macaroni & cheese and potato salad. The pulled pork and brisket was tender, the ribs were a little tough in some areas, but not too bad. The macaroni & cheese and potato salad was enjoyable, although, I couldn't really tell if either one was made from scratch. I took 1 star off, due to the portion size of the food that I received, versus the price that I paid. For $12, I expected a bit more food. Overall, I would consider eating there again.

The Good: brisket was tasty, sauce was good, and price was reasonable. The Bad: Sides (coleslaw, potato salad, white bread slices) were store bought. Drinks were lukewarm, plastic plates & cutlery. The most telling sign: I ate there from 5:45-6:45 on a Thursday night, and my friend and I were the only customers in the restaurant for the entire hour. Recommendation: Only order the meats (takeout), or take your $12 and buy BBQ somewhere else where you get decent sides & cold beverages.

Lunch time and I was the only patron in the place. I had the brisket and collard greens and green beans. The greens and green beans were great! However the brisket is supposedly smoked but it had no smoke flavor and was a bit dry. Also normally the edges are the best part of a brisket but the edges of this was gristle and not edible. I would avoid the brisket. The staff is nice but not overly passionate about what they're doing.

Went here today for the first time finally, after passing it up for months. I was very impressed. I had the two meat dinner (ribs and sausage) for $11, with mac And Collard Greens On The Side. The ribs were fall off the bone and flavorful. The table had regular bar b q sauce and hot. The coding table had utensils, bread, pickles, and onions. The banana pudding is completely addicting!!!

Had the brisket plate with greens and macaroni and cheese. Brisket was very tender but not moist. Could've used a little more seasoning to me. Greens were canned but not bad, macaroni and cheese wasn't good at all. Cashier seemed put off by credit card machine. Owner did let me taste the sausage which was really good and juicy. Overall, not bad. Sauces were good as well.

Haven't eaten here since December 2014 and finally went back this week. Had the rib and brisket plate w/pinto beans and collard greens. Ribs were tender and just moist enough, right on the border of being dry. The brisket was quite different from the last time. Once this place had the best brisket in the area but it needed more seasoning. It tasted like smoke on meat with very little seasoning. Plus I got the moist part of the brisket but it was slightly dry. Never had that happen in the past here. Collard greens were cold but the pinto beans were piping hot and very good! Staff was great and friendly too! Overall it was okay but it's just your average Killeen BBQ place now. They used to stand alone and on top in the area but it's bbq you can find at any local bbq place now.

The owner acted like he couldn't be bothered by questions. My husband asked if he could have the end cut of the brisket and he said they only cut it one way "from beginning to end" what happened to the customer is always right? The food was ok...the beans were bland. The potato salad was pretty good. The meat was edible but didn't taste like it had been smoked by the smoker outside. Needless to say we won't be going back...

Staff is friendly and the food is amazing. Get the banana pudding you won't be disappointed! The pork melts in your mouth and the hot sauce has just the right amount of heat to it, but a ton of flavor. They were out of mac and cheese which sucks but that's just an excuse for me to come back again!

Big LL sure knows how to BBQ his meats! This BBQ joint is incredible with their done right every time meats. Not to say that Rudy's isn't good but a lot of people recommend Rudy's and I always make sure to present Big LL's as a better option when I'm in the conversation. I think Big LL's is overlooked because of their location or for the simple fact that it's not a big brand. If you love eating at Rudy's then you'll most definitely begin to love eating here more! Big LL's also has a punch card rewards system (stop in to check that out). The owner/cook is always offering deals, discounts, specials, etc... via their Facebook page which I find luring me down here every so often. I give this place a rating of four stars only because the sides selection are mediocre in all honesty. If you haven't been here to eat, you are missing out. I recommend that you stop by and give this great BBQ spot a try.

So I finally made it into Big LL's after seeing the Facebook posts and sending some TDY soldiers that way. I'm a huge fan of Texas BBQ, I've travelled all over and enjoy each regions take on long cooked meats but Texas with all its beef takes the cake with Brisket. That said I'm alway going to try the brisket in Texas. Big LL's has done a good job in filling the hole Killeen had for good smoked bbq. There are several established BBQ businesses and none are at the level Brian has set. Brisket: My wife, kids and I dropped in for a afternoon snack. We usually get our meat by the pound since I have a small colony. We just got a pound of brisket to snack on since dinner was close and we hadn't had lunch. I asked for moist brisket and Brian cut us some thick slices which were on point. The smoke was great, tender and moist. The fat and burnt ends were very flavorful, which is what I'd expect from a top notch joint. Pulled pork: in Texas we don't give the pig much props. Personally I love Carolina BBQ and all parts the piggy has to offer. So it didn't surprise me when I had the pulled pork. It wasn't as flavorful and was pre mixed in BBQ sauce. I should be able to sauce my own pulled pork if necessary, taste the burnt ends and meat by itself. I'd love to have seen a Carolina sauce but being a born and raised Texan, I understand when it's not on the table. Overall it would have been awesome on a toasted bun but didn't cut it by itself. BBQ sauce: I tried the sweet and spicy. Both were good and I could enjoy either on my brisket. The hot one was my favorite by far though. I really enjoyed the slight kick, which I typically do in my own sauce. It compliments the meat and does a great job in its supporting role. Banana Pudding: last but definitely not the least, as Yelpers recommended, we tried the Banana Pudding. Wow. All I can say is it won't disappoint. You have to try it for yourself. Do not leave unless you have tried it. One last thing, I talked with Brian (the owner) for a bit and we talked shop on smoking meat, me being an avid smoker of BBQ. He is a genuine guy who really cares about his customers. He's stepped up and dug in to Killeen in a critical category of foods. Thanks for filling that niche, I'm going to stop in today!

Today was my first time here. I ordered the Two Meats Combo. A lot of the items especially meats were no longer available. It's 3pm and you don't have chicken and sausage. Damn!! Atmosphere seemed run down but not horrible. Definitely poor lighting inside. I chose the pulled pork and pork ribs with mac n cheese and collard greens. Also a side of peach cobbler. My order today was to go.... Pulled pork was excellent!! Since they didn't give me any bread when I got home I put the pulled pork between ciabatta bread. DELICIOUS!! Ribs were cooked pretty good too. I'm just amazed on the small portion of meats that came with the combo. Mac N Cheese was ok. Collard Green tasted and looked like canned vegetables. No seasonings and very mediocre. Peach cobbler was cold. The desert wasn't seasoned and they gave it to me in a ice cold plastic container. I had to thaw n warm it up in the microwave. If it wasn't for the great taste of the ribs and pulled pork I would give my experience today 2 star. March 25, 2015 *Update* I got a message from the owner. He is a Military Veteran and I got told a few things that got me to change the original rating of 2 Stars to 3 Stars.
