I ran across this fabulous quaint restaurant yesterday in Colorado City, Tx and thought I'd share this.
My Daughter took me to Clerico Home Food Restaurant for my Birthday yesterday. It is in Colorado City, Tx and located at 440 E. 5th Street, on the corner of 5th & Hickory St. It is located in a restored and well maintained two story home built around1920 or 1930, owned and operated buy a very friendly and humble Argentina couple, Alex and Claudia.
I just can't say enough about this place. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by this couple with huge smiles, handshakes, and hugs. We immediately felt like we were family. Beautifully rusticly decorated place.
The food is just awsome! They have 257 five star reviews!! Come hungry and be willing to wait a little for your food, as EVERYTHING on thier menu is made from scratch and at the time it's ordered!! Food is very reasonably priced, $14 or less, and very huge portions. We didn't order appetizers because my Daughter already told us the portions were huge. But we were presented with 12 little mini homemade pizzas, served on a handcut board with "Clerico" burn into the board while we waited at no charge. Very nice presentation!
Everything on the menu sounded awsome, and I had never experienced Argentina cusine. My Daughter said the Argentina Double Meat Hamburger and the Seasoned Potato Wedges were a must try, so I did. Many different types of pasta dishes, empadas, flat bread pizza, etc.
Alex later came to our table and began placing our dinner in front of us, oh my what a presentation and such huge portions! As Alex set my plate down, he said in his accent, "Hope this looks great to you. We have a rule here at Clerico. If you don't eat all your food, we have many dishes to wash." Lol.
Alex later said, "Im just kidding, we have lots of big To Go containers." Everyone of us took food home. I would have gladly washed dishes, it was that good.
At the end of the meal, Alex & Claudia surprised with a huge slice of homemade Argentina Strawberry Cheese Cake, topped with strawberry sauce and fresh strawberries and sang Happy Birthday to me. Sooo good!
I would highly recommend that any time you're close to Colorado City, Tx, you make a bee line to Clerico's!! You will not regret it! I've attached a like below, take a look at all the reviews and photos of the food. Everyone else ate different pasta and chicken dishes and they said it was phenomenal!

Hidden gem....When we came in we were promptly greeted and told to seat ourselves. The genleman came over gave us our menus and took drink orders. The food there was amazing. Portions are huge and everything was soooo good. The Husband and wife came out and checked on regularly and made sure my daughters potatoes wedges were to her liken. We are so happy to have found this place.
Kid-friendliness: The staff was amazing with my special needs daughter.

We tried Clerico for the first time tonight and will probably be back at least once a week going forward. We placed a pickup order through UberEats and I arrived early to pick it up. The owner sat us down with chips and drinks while we waited for our food. The place is clean and the decor is unique. He made all of the tables and chairs himself! We felt like we had walked into a family member’s home for dinner. We got home and opened our food and our portions were massive! And everything was DELICIOUS!
If I could give this little gem a 10 star review I would!!! The customer service, the cozy setting, everything was beyond perfect. The flavors of all the food was delicious. We will definitely be back to try all the items that are on the menu! 10 out of 10 recommend!

OMG! What have I found here? This place is amazing.. never knew I needed this in my life.. ordered from UberEATS and it came well packaged and huge portions.. the food tastes amazing! I almost wish I went in person.. now I'm leaving tomorrow and sad this isn't back home.. please give it a try if you are in the area.. the 5 Star reviews will not disappoint you.

This place is without a doubt the best resturant in Killeen. The atmosphere is amazing and the service is great. The food is absolutly wonderful. I can't sing the praises enough about this place. The prices are amazing and the quantity of food is more than generous.
